Sugar Ponies
Based in San Francisco, but originally from the east coast, Sugar Ponies are comprised of Suzanne Kramer on vocals and multi-instrumentalist Michael McGovern on guitar, keyboard and tambourine.

Suzanne grew up heavily influenced by 70’s pop, country and jazz – echoes of which can be heard throughout Sugar Ponies music. Michael grew up a fan of XTC, Pete Townshend, Don Henley and Mike Campbell. Suzanne built a career as a jazz singer, playing clubs and private functions. Michael played in several bands, all varying stylistically – surf, rock, punk, etc., and scored music for several independent films and soundtracks.

Meeting each other at the seminal San Francisco club Yoshi’s in 2004, the two began talking, and as Suzanne remembers, “We discovered that we were both looking for something very similar as the other, and it inspired us to start writing together.” The first two years of their collaboration was spent, as Suzanne says, “experimenting, writing songs and seeing how we fit together.”

It took a while to coalesce, but when the two wrote “Kiss Me,” they both knew they had their breakthrough. Capitalizing on the momentum, the songs began to flow, and they soon had the songs that comprise their first EP, Sugar Ponies.

Lucas Ohio Pattie
Lucas Ohio Pattie

Lucas Ohio’s dynamic songs contain the timeless, evocative lyrics of a poet, and are supported by shifting tempos, textures, and adventuresome arrangements. Delivering energetic and scorching sets, the band developed a large, loyal fan base, quickly leading Lucas Ohio & The Shamblers to become one of the most talked about bands along California’s Central Coast. Both their 2006 self-titled debut “The Shamblers” and their 2008 CD “Steps Toward Home” were critically well received, cementing their reputation as one of the hottest bands between Santa Barbara and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Music Critic Rick Alan Rice at rarwriter.com writes that “Lucas Ohio Pattie may be the next smart young blues-folk-rocker to be accepted into the pantheon of San Francisco Bay Area illuminati . . . a bright guy with a vision for something fresh and different.”

Muncie
Vince Lay, Anna Cucciardo, Bob Mathre, and Swen Hendrickson
an independent rock, roll, swing and slide band based in Oakland, California.

Muncie’s “California Soul Twang” sound is built upon classic, loose grooves (à la Exile on Main Street-era Rolling Stones, The Band, Tom Petty), coupled with honest, narrative songwriting (Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan), and a country-western/early rhythm & blues throwback vibe (Otis Redding, Johnny Cash). Following in the footsteps of a long line of San Francisco Bay Area musicians fortunate enough to exist in a place where music is not just a wave of sound, but a way of life, Muncie creates songs that are equally meant for your dancing pleasure as well as your listening enjoyment.
