May, Godino, and Barnett released a self-titled demo in 2006, and after it found its way into the hands of folks at Go-Kart Records, the guys earned a spot on the impressed label's roster. The Menzingers' debut full-length, A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology, subsequently came out in the summer of 2007. The record went over well and the band found its name spreading steadily among punk fans, especially those into groups like the Lawrence Arms. They hooked up with Red Scare Industries next and a four-song EP, Hold on Doge, was released in May 2009. The Menzingers eventually headed back into the studio to work with producer Matt Allison on their next full-length, Chamberlain Waits, which was issued amid growing hype via Red Scare in April 2010. The following year, the Menzingers signed on with punk giant Epitaph Records, and in 2012 they released their third album, On the Impossible Past. The Menzingers create a rousing sound featuring crashing power chords, rock steady drumming and anthemic sing-along choruses alongside powerfully poetic everyman lyrics. Off With Their Heads Ryan Robbie Fisher and The Greek -From Minneapolis, Minnesota. -Minneapolis punk band Off With Their Heads began in 2003, taking their membership from area punk and hardcore institutions like Dillinger Four, Dear Landlord, Banner Pilot, and the Fake Boys, among others. Based around the depraved and hard-living themes of vocalist Ryan Young's songs, the band existed mostly in the form of an endless string of EP and split 7" releases for many years. Also focused on constant touring, Off With Their Heads maintained a revolving lineup so they could stay on the road more often. They have since released three full-lengths and locked down their lineup, as well as signing with Epitaph Records. Off With Their Heads maintains its character boisterous spirit while always progressing musically. In its latest development, the band has embraced authentic punk rock at its core and combines melodic fast paced aggression with mid-tempo pop. Young's rough vocals add sincerity to the mix, reflecting a band that works hard for what they have. They are rowdy, self-deprecating, beer-drinking, working-class punk, authentic as can be and as relatable as it gets. Broadway Calls Josh Baird, Ty Vaughn, and Adam Willis. -From Rainier, Oregon. -Broadway Calls crams infectious hooks and unforgettable choruses into each one of their songs, bringing together dozens of key elements into one complete package that sets them above the rest. They're gutsy and bold, willing to wax poetic on issues beyond high school crushes and lost love, dipping into social issues, political discourse, lasting friendship, and more. Broadway Calls is pop punk at it's best: memorable and moving, raw and authentic, intelligent and powerful. The songs are melodic, straight-ahead and extremely difficult to not sing along to. With each performance, it's easy to see that the band loves what it does, and that chaotic joy spreads to the crowd like wildfire. |
