Shareef Ali
-From Oakland, California.
-Based in Oakland, CA, Shareef Ali performs songs of love and struggle. Poignant and revealing verse reminiscent of Leonard Cohen or Conor Oberst is set against a backdrop of American traditional music from folk to jazz to county to rock and roll.

Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Shareef Ali studied music at Oberlin College and moved to the Bay Area in 2007. In 2009, Shareef assembled the Radical Folksonomy and began performing regularly at such venues as Bottom of the Hill, the Make Out Room, the Hotel Utah Saloon and Berkeley's Starry Plough. Shareef Ali & The Radical Folksonomy released their debut EP The Once & Future Boyfriend in 2010 and the full-length Holy Rock & Roll the next spring. In the summer of 2011, Shareef recorded his solo EP How To End The War.

Whiskerman
Graham Patzner, Will Lawrence, Nick Cobbett, and Charles Lloyd.
-From Oakland, California.
-The youngest of three brothers and the son of two musicians, Graham Patzner didn't have much choice. Starting on piano at age five and then moving on to violin, trumpet, and guitar, the Whiskerman singer and front-man has cultivated a unique sound that is hard to pinpoint. His voice ranges from smoky to soaring, while his songs span a wide array of moods and grenes, yet always remain soulful. Behind him is a tight band, and collectively, they form Whiskerman, and they are quickly becoming a force in the SF Bay Area.

Sparkbox
Kelly McFarling and Megan Keely.
-From the Bay Area, California.

-Two thirds of the supergroup Glittersnatch, SparkBox features the stripped down stylings of Bay Area phenoms Kelly McFarling and Megan Keely. Homegrown and haunting, Kelly McFarling's voice spirals powerfully, and progressively over a bed of oldtimey instrumentation. Megan Keely's debut is an amalgam of soul, jazz, and folk, and evokes a timeless waft of nostalgia while carving a vibrant, fresh new niche for itself.
