Movits!
Johan Jivin' Rensfeldt, Mördar-Anders Rensfeldt, and Jocke "OneTake" Nilsson.
-From Luleå, Sweden.
-The Swedish hiphop/swing band Movits! are making their way through the music world, aiming for the top of the charts- a place they've already visited once with thieir '08 debut "Åppelknyckarjazz," after an appearance on The Colbert Report launched them to the number one spots on iTunes and Amazon charts. Notable here is that these were American charts and Movits! were singing in Swedish, a language quite far from the lingua franca of the US.

Following up on their success in the USA, Movits! embarked on a nation-wide tour in January 2010. They were accompanied by fellow Swedish rapper Zacke and a filming crew, documenting every step they took. With sold out dates in all big cities, the "First We Take Manhattan Tour" marked the start of a busy year for Movits!.

During the spring and summer of 2010, Movits! expanded their reach in Europe. They have toured England, including playing at the Glastonbury Festival seven times, and also played festivals in Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Macedonia, and Shanghai.

The Younger Lovers
Brontez Purnell, Mateo Corona, Adal JR, and Adam.
-From Oakland, California.

-The Younger Lovers started in 1994 when 12-year-old Brontez and two of his girl cousins, T'kwa and Bean, started ditching choir practice to play in a band. The transition from gospel to secular alternative radio was difficult. Three years into the project, T'kwa and Bean split because they started getting laid. Young Brontez dwiddled away, caught punk germs, nd ended up creating up to 13 albums worth of unreleased solo material. He moved to California in the wee hours of the decade, spent time in other bands (Gravy Train!!!, Panty Raid, The Social Lies, The Manhandlers) and finally released the Younger Lover's "newest" and "rawest" works- The "Newest Romantic LP" and the "California Soul EP."

8th Grader
-From San Francisco, California.
-With his luscious tenor and seductive lyrics, SF singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist 8th Grader (aka Jason Martinovich) injects a unique and fresh R&B sensibility to his singular brand of nu-soul. His decadent vocals caress Afro-Cuban polyrhythms, Rhodes piano, and elements of Chillwave. With nods to Prince, Frank Ocean, George Michael and Janet Jackson, 8th Grader fills a nameless void somewhere in between pop and R&B. Currently creating a stir amongst the music blogs, 8th Grader has been gaining acclaim from fans and critics alike with his signature R&B meets Nu-soul flare.
