Having spent much of 2012 honing their live show with the likes of Grouplove, Electric Guest, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., The Colourist began 2013 holed up in a small studio in Southern California. It's here that the members committed their pop-fueled, indie-bred rock to tape before embarking on their first tour, which included appearances at Coachella along with support shows with Metric and Youngblood Hawke and Atlas Genius. Night Terrors Of 1927 Jarrod Gorbel and Blake Sennett -From Los Angeles, California. -Night Terrors of 1927 is an LA-based synth/dark pop group, that blends synth-pop and indie rock elements to create fuzzy, anthemic tracks which feature intricate harmonies. Sad and romantic, the duo's material jumps headfirst into the world of orchestrated electro-pop, to stunning effect. The Wind + The Wave Dwight Baker and Patricia Lynn -From Austin, Texas. -The Wind and The Wave are Dwight Baker and Patricia Lynn, best friends who employ the mantra "if it feels forced, fuck it." After having retired as a touring musician in 2003, Baker came to find Lynn through the production of her previous projects in Austin, Texas. Over the course of working together on other musical efforts, the two are now able to describe themselves as being "cut from the same thread," and "rarely on different pages." This made it not only easy, but essential that Baker and Lynn begin writing and producing music that satisfied their own ever-evolving creative spirits. Spontaneous and organic, The Wind and The Wave produce an honest, joyful alt-country sound that comes from the musical connection between friends. |
