Sit Kitty Sit
Kat Downs and Mike Thompson.
-From San Francisco, California.
-Kat Downs (piano/vox) and Mike Thompson (drums) create an undeniable pop/proggy piano and drum duo which has been described as Dresden Dolls mixed with Florence + Machine, Tori Amos, & Ben Folds Five. It's a stripped down, bare essentials approach to music that is captivating and unique.

The Go Ahead
Formerly Jesus & the Rabbis

Kyna Wise, Alex Mamelok, Josh Hertz, and Chris Kelly.
-From San Francisco, California.
-"The Go Ahead is a four-piece power funk experience simultaneously defying description and expectation at every turn. Or something. Maybe went a bit hard there. But seriously listen to this fucking band. They force hooks into your brain before you even know what happened. San Francisco knocked it out of the park this time. It starts with a rhythm section rivaling RHCP not only in funkiness but in pure rock sexual energy. Then you add one of the baddest guitar players in the game, crushing chords and exploding with rhythmic pyrotechnics. That trio alone is worth the price of admission, but WE AREN'T DONE YET. The topping of this funk rock stew is a formidable force of female vocal fireworks equal parts Grace Slick, Mick Jagger and Gwen Stefani. When you mix all these elements it's hard to imagine an ass they couldn't get shaking. They can make you dance, they can make you headbang, they can impregnate all mammals within a 27 mile radius if they god damn please. Do yourself a favor and just listen."
