Known across the globe as the founder of Anticon records and the creator/frontman of alt hip hop group WHY?, Wolf is going back to basics with a stripped-down rap experience, reflecting years in an industry that he pioneered. Serengeti -From Chicago, Illinois. -Serengeti is an alternative hip hop artist from Chicago, Illinois. His style is a sharp departure from most mainstream rap, which he considers depressing and redudant. He raps with a variety of on-stage personae, most notably Kenny Davis, his Chicago Bears & White Sox-loving married man, and peppers his raps with references to his hometown. He's offbeat and eclectic while being authentic and technical, firmly placing himself in the alternative rap game and not giving an inch to critics and skeptics. Jel -From Oakland, California. -These days, Jel resides in the Bay Area with the same SP-1200 beatmachine he purchased as a teen. One of the first musicians to use a drum machine in live performance like a drum kit with little to no sequencing, Jel has been a pioneer in the alternative hip hop field. He helped Yoni Wolf to start Anticon Records, and has been making hip hop beats since 1994.
