The Slippery Slope
Emma Powell, Kendon Walker Smith, Marty Jones, Joshua Jones, Paul McCue, Zachariah Kobrinsky, Sleepless Paulette, and LaTorri Lindsay.
-From San Francisco, California.
-The dynamic Slippery Slope started out in Oakland in 2007, with ideas of playing psychedelic jazz and soul... fast forward to 2014 and witness the transformation into an electrigying, eclectic eight-piece ensemble, putting out their own post-punk take on big band, jazz noir, latin tinged exotica, lounge, funk, with slippery soulful sounds.

"With The Slippery Slope, San Francsico has spawned another truly enjoyable act. Their blend of rich classic sounds, sophisticated tunes, and inventive arrangement, makes for a ride that is familiar, but far from pedestrian. You often recognize wehre you are, but are amazed at how you arrived. If Burt Bacharach reworked Little Willie John's tune 'Fever' and handed it off to The Jefferson Airplane, it might sound almost as good as The Slippery Slope." - Jesse Walkershaw, Go Van Gogh

The Bang Girl Group Revue
Angeline King, Rachel Mae Havens, Melisser Elliot, Derek See, Curtis Meacham, Jafar Green, and Richard Gutierrez.
-From San Francisco, California.
-The Bang go beyond retro nostalgia to reinvigorate the genre.

Sassy. Sultry. Sexy. Sophisticated. Thesea re just some of the words that describe the three vocalists who stand center stage in The Bang Girl Group REvue, the SF Bay Area's most exciting show band. And while the trio of vivacious vocalists do channel the classics sounds of the 1960s, including the Brill Building's tales of teenage heartbreak, Tamla/Motown's elegant R&B micro-symphonies and the foot-stomping Memphis soul of Stax, they also blend in a lively large measure of original songs that sound timeless but still have a timely edge.

The Bang Girl Group Revue is not an exercise in nostalgia. Although they take to the stage with many instruments built in the 1960s, their music has an ageless sound that appeals to the folks who love the sound of real voices blending in harmony, the glorious shimmer of a guitar driving a tube amp and the visceral whomp of human drummer laying down a breathing beat. They may hail from the heart of the Silicon Valley, but the Bang Girl Group Revue leaves the high-tech music gadgets to other bands.

The Inciters
Betsy Jane Kniffin, Andrea Pisani, Aimee Gruber, Moreah Walker, Sabi Kendrick, Rick Kendrick, Kevin Zinn, Kemen Waddell, Daniel Miltz, Don Roland, Mick Lee, Michael Luke, and Cameron Escovedo.
-From Santa Cruz, California.
-One of the West Coast's finest Northern Soul bands, The Inciters are an overpowering 11-piece dance floor soul band that has brought the house down from LA to Chicago and all across Europe. The Inciters' brand of northern soul takes the Motown/Stax ethic but adds a stronger back-beat with more adventurous production, and they have no problem filling a room with the powerful sound of soul.
