Mixing Nashville jubilee with Pacific Ocean swells, their deubt LP Dusk For Dawn was conceived in nine weeks between sessions at Ocean Beach and Tiny Telephone Studios in SF. Hailing from New England, lyricist Joe Hayes was inspired after a series of trips to the tiny redwood community of Cazadero, which rests a few miles between the Russian River and the Pacific Coast. Paying homage to the tempered melodies of heroes JJ Cale, Bill Callahan, and Jerry Garcia, Cazadero celebrates analog era Country and Western and 70s Laurel Canyon sensibilities. Waxing poetic on mortality, the working class, and the struggles of Western migration, their latest offering Old Friends will be released in the late Spring. - |
