Bruder. -From San Francisco, California. -Cuban Cigar Crisis is an SF/Bay Area California based rock 'n' roll outfit, named after being asked to play a benefit show for students traveling to Cuba. Lyrically driven, melodic, and laid-back, Cuban Cigar Crisis perfectly encapsulates what it means to be a California rock band, as they traverse genres and melodies from song to song. Genuine emotion tangles with tongue-in-cheek humor to create a band that plays hard and sincerely while not taking themselves too seriously. The Record Winter Dominic, Steven, Ben, and Josh. -From San Jose, California. -The Record Winter is a band nestled in a city dubbed "the heart of Silicon Valley," San Jose, California. They've been playing and recording together since 2007. In that time, they've released several EPs and one full-length album, and they've been described as progenies of bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi, Dead Kennedys, Neil Young, Hot Snakes, Black Flag, Cursive, and Dinosaur, Jr. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their second full-length, which ushers in a new era for the band. A harder and darker album than the first, due partly to singer/songwriter Dominic Miranda's near death experience and vast hospitalization over the last couple of years. Guitar solos and vocal melodies that remind you of the care taken to the craft of music, exhibited by the greats of the '70s and '80s, permeate their material.
