 soul-infused space pop

Minipop
Tricia Kanne, Matthew Swanson, and Lauren Grubb.
-From San Francisco, California.
-If there's such a thing as a "San Francisco sound," Minipop doesn't care about it. Perhaps that's what has allowed the local quartet to create a brand of starry-eyed pop that feels ethereal, uprooted from time and space. The band has gotten so much good press over the last year that they're comfortable with the frequent comparisons to Mazzy Star, the Sundays, and Eisley- all inevitable references when trying to desribe Minipop singer Tricia Kanne's honeyed voice.

The group has even been dubbed a female-fronted Coldplay, possibly for pairing beautiful melodies with driving beats. Certainly, Minipop recalls '90s shoegazer rock bands like Slowdive and Lush, in the way that they offer rich, hypnotic melodies in a sea of sound.

There's Talk
Olivia Lee (vocals, synths, electronics)
Kellen Balla (electronics, guitar, vocals)
Young Lee (guitar, vocals)

An electronic / folk band from San Francisco
Debut EP released July, 2013.

The solo effort began as a self-defined “compartmentalizing of hurt” by San Francisco based multi-instrumentalist Olivia Lee (vocals, keyboards, programming, guitar) as she wrote in between other collaborated efforts.

She began recording in the the converted garage studio of friend Nic De La Riva and finished recording and mixing with engineer Ian Pellicci (Yann Tiersen, Rogue Wave, Hauschka) at Tiny Telephone.

In Autumn of 2012, Kellen Balla (programming, guitar, vocals) and Young Lee (guitar, vocals) were added with hopes of recreating and expanding the ambitious visions of the record for live performance. The songs took shape and began to transform into a both delicate and hauntingly dynamic soundscape that now sets the tone for the full band, There’s Talk.

Their debut EP, Tiny Stands, rich with eclectic subtleties and dark harmonies reminiscent of folk influence Sufjan Stevens and textural confessions of Youth Lagoon, was released in late Summer of 2013.

Running In The Fog
Amanda Harper
Running In The Fog is the moniker of San Francisco’s Amanda Harper. Harper’s deep seeded affinity for ‘90s R&B sets the scene for the project’s self-penned soul-infused space pop. Spending the better part of her adolescence singing and playing saxophone in jazz outfits, followed by a cross-country journey that took her to Philadelphia to study music and theater, her eclectic inspirations can be heard throughout everything she touches. On Silver, Running In The Fog's debut collection out 12/10 on Father/Daughter Records, the six alluring tracks spotlight Harper’s silky vocals and hypnotic production.
