They area bout as playful as an arty pop band can get: melodies in between melodies, jangly guitar, glittery keyboard, of Montreal-esque bass, galloping propulsion from a 6 foot 10 drummer, all fronte dby heavy-breathing tales of romance and counter-culture glow. The group clearly sounds like they are enjoying themselves. Cute, sexy, and a little terrifying. Scissors For Lefty has played all over the United States and the United Kingdom, including tours with the following bands: Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things, Erasure, Smashing Pumpkinds, Metric, Panic at The Disco, Blonde Redhead, The French Kicks, Locksley, The Matches, The Fiery Furnaces, Semi Precious Weapons, Kaiser Chiefs, Rykarda, Parasol, Elephone, Black Heart Procession, Suffrajette, The Pigeon Detectives, Paolo Nutini, Ben Kweller, Juliette & The Licks, Grandaddy, The Bravery, The Bloody Hearts, White Lies, Mr. Loveless, and more... Their anticipated 3rd album "Bangs & Lashes" has just been completed and is being shopped for an early 2013 release. Look for the album's first video in May 2013. - Anaura Alex Hillmer, Josh Manion, Aaron Skiles, and Robbie Kimzey. -From San Francisco, California. -Since 2003, Anaura has been playing catchy, guitar-driven drock that is familiar, and yet sounds all their own. With the upcoming 4th release Champion of the Moon, this San Francisco based dark pop band has continued to hone their sound by offering a brand of accessible indie rock with story-like lyrics, shameless charm, and jaded hooks. Rio Rio Josh Collopy, Sean Corcran, Todd Huguenor, Ian de Borja, and Alex Cohen. -From San Francisco, California. -Rio Rio is a five-piece SF indie dance rock band. Powerfully uptempo and rhythmic, and driven by simple yet poignant lyrics, Rio Rio blasts forth with an all-encompassing, professional sound. Spacey guitar, synth, and ever-changing rhythms give it a heavily retro vibe underlying its modern dance grooves. |
