 NW-Americana, Indie-Rock

Before The Brave
Jason Perry STevens, Nicholas Morawiecki, Kyle Redmond Teese, Steven Binnquist, and Beth Garber.
-From San Francisco, California.
-Stepping onto the indie music scene with a spring in their step, Before the Brave have been taking audiences by great surprise- and with great spirit. Their sound is a fresh mix of folksy emotion and lively celebration, like something your dad might listen to, mixed with a loud, harmonic party you've never quite experienced before. This band raises their glass to bravery in all of its forms, never ceasing to sing about the meaning of life, while busting stereotypes left, right, and center.

Three Times Bad
Jesús Ángel García, Thomas Romero, Jean-Pierre Duboucheron, Megan McDewitt
-Three Times Bad is about dirty American roots music 'n' mayhem-making. Some call it bluegrass; some do not.
-THREE TIMES BAD is “a hot new San Francisco string [band] born from the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed, transmedia novel ‘badbadbad’” by bandleader Jesus Angel Garcia. The group plays “dirty American roots music” on acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and upright bass. In the great folk tradition, everyone sings. Think: “Epic moustaches and bent bluegrass”, backwoods blues, outlaw country, hillbilly swing, Appalachian rags, Gypsy jazz, old-time gospel, murder ballads, honkytonk, folk songs, and hot singalongs. This regional touring ensemble has performed all over California and the PacNW, including multiple appearances at the Ink n Iron Festival in Long Beach and the Humboldt Hills Hoedown.

Joseph
Natalie, Allison, and Meegan.
-From Portland, Oregon.
-Joseph is the earthy, heartfelt incarnation of three sisters' passion for their roots and their destinies. Honest to no end and sincere as can be, this female tour de force is a group of pure vocal power. Harmonies and group vocals echo through your soul as ambling guitar drives the rhythm along, leaving chills coursing through your spine. Firmly grounded by their experience and histories, the members of Joseph take acoustic folk and alternative country to a new level.

Marshall McLean
Marshall McLean, Justin Landis, Jamie Frost, and Jesse MacDonald.
-From Spokane, Washington.
-The Marshall McLean Band was born out of the Northwest, and it carries with it the unique sound that is becoming distinct to this part of the country. The four-piece band, based out of Spokane, has brought forth a fresh idea- that one can merge elements of thoughtful songwriting in folk, the driving force of rock, and the melodic accessibility of Americana and carve out a new genre- a new kind of NW Americana rock.

One of Spokane's favorite songwriters, McLean manages to write songs without pretension. He sets reflective moods and backs them up with a distinctive picking style that travels seamlessly from powered lead lines to dynamic rhythm. It is in the final output, however, where the Marshall McLean Band carves its most solid niche. The method in which acoustical elements are managed through filters and amps gives forth a clean, overdriven sound that blurs the line between genres. The band is unafraid, blending these styles, taking the best of both worlds and discarding the rest.
