The band are on Asian Man Records, Mike Park's record label and are officially known as The B. Lee Band to avoid legal complications with the estate of the late Bruce Lee. In an interview, Park stated that after the first album had been released under the "Bruce Lee Band" name, Lee's brother Robert happened to work in the CD manufacturing plaant responsible for pressing the album. Robert Lee contacted Park to give him a friendly word of caution that Mike should probably change the name. The second release, an EP featuring Mike Park and the Rx Bandits, was released in early 2005 under the "Bruce Lee Band" name, titled "Beautiful World" Monkey Curtis Meacham: Vocals/Guitar Micah Turney: Drums Dustin James: Trombone/Organ/Vocals Dan Root: Saxophone Rudy Sermeno: Bass -Monkey is a third wave ska band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Skank Bank -from Berkeley, CA -Skank Bank is a Bay Area based ska band. We formed in 2013 and have been playing music ever since. We started off as a four piece band and now we have grown to a seven piece band with a full horn section. We started playing gigs at Ashkenaz in Berkeley, California and since then have moved on to play many other notable local venues such as 924 Gilman, SUBMission, and Burnt Ramen. Now that we have built up a local fan base we have decided it is time we record an album. Since March of 2014, we have been tracking at Arlington Studios with our producer Ari Chersky. |
