 Art - Folk - Soul

Whiskerman
Graham Patzner, Will Lawrence, Nick Cobbett, and CHarles Lloyd.
-From Oakland, California.
-The youngest of three brothers and the son of two musicians, Graham Patzner didn't have much choice. Starting on piano at age five and then moving on to violin, trumpet, and guitar, the Whiskerman singer and frontman has cultivated a unique sound that is hard to pinpoint. His voice ranges from smoky to soaring, while his songs span a wide array of moods and genres, yet always remain soulful. Behind him is a tight band of professional musicians, and together they are quickly becoming a force in the SF Bay Area.

decker.
Brandon Decker and Kelly Cole.
-From Sedona, Arizona.
-Soldiering through the near-calamity of a rollover accident while on tour in California, the band is a now tight unit of melody, atmosphere, and space; not merely the brainchild of songwriter Brandon Decker. Decker crafts songs which find profundity in their naked sincerity. Not quite rock, not quite folk, the acoustic-based psychedelic Americana balladry draws upon a variety of influences; from Leonard Cohen to Tom Waits, from Cat Power to PJ Harvey. Yet in the end, his music is unique and uniquely him, and that is the offering.

Brother Grand
Ben Henderson and Endika.
-From San Jose, California.
-Brothers Grand is a swirling, building musical phenomenon that is hard to classify as any one genre. Part jazz combo, part pensive folk, and part experimental multi-instrumentalism, Brothers Grand is dynamic and progressive. Heartfelt, poignant lyrics are backed by ambling guitar and stirring bass melodies.
