Wymond Miles
-Wymond Miles, guitarist of San Francisco garage-pop titans The Fresh & Onlys.
-Though Wymond Miles has made his name with his day job as guitarist and one-fourth of the San Franciscan garage janglers The Fresh & Onlys, he's always had a deeper romance at heart than the records he's made with that band have demonstrated. The last couple of years have found Miles taking time away to explore of that dramatic side.
On the heels of last years critically acclaimed debut LP, Under the Pale Moon, and Earth Has Doors EP comes his sophomore full length Cut Yourself Free which assembles another convergence of moonlit romantic swagger and post-punk massacred urgency. Again self recorded and produced to tape, Miles’ song-craft has emerged more refined and poignant, benefitting from the avalanche of his frenzied live shows, but also adhering to a more minimalistic fashion with crooning mid-era Nick Cave or Bowie/Roxy Music strains of pop-modernism. But what stands at the forefront is Miles’ command of his textural guitar and vintage-synth sprawl that on his choosing can open dream-like vistas, or pierce with an engine’s snarl. Turning to the narrative, Miles weaves each song with its own vignette of story line, often with a vaguely obscured protagonist/antagonist dialog. Relationships in Miles’ sketches are always tangled, if not licentious affairs, but are presented more as lustrous gateways to mend and revitalize rather than squalor in.

Joseph Childress
Probably one of the greatest folk musicians to live, Joseph Childress known by many fans for his lack of available music, but his utter perfection. His two split 7” vinyls have been released on labels Endless Nest and Empty Cellar.

Pontiak
Lain, Van & Jennings Carney
-from Virginia.
-Pontiak is an American neo-psychedelic rock band of three brothers from the Blue Ridge Mountain area of Virginia: Jennings Carney, Van Carney and Lain Carney. The band officially formed in January 2004.
Their lifelong closeness yields uncommon musical understanding, creative collaboration and personal camaraderie. Their singular combination of impressive work ethic and boundless creativity pays off on their new album INNOCENCE. From the explosive title track to the mellow groove of “Wildfires,” these 11 songs are some of the most absorbing and melodic material the band has produced, without ever losing their signature heft. It was recorded in the band's Studio A in Virginia without the aid of computers.
