Young Aundee
Andrew James Southard
-from Northern California
-Young Aundee is the moniker of one Andrew James Southard, an eclectic and unpredictable artist from Northern California. With an evocative, melancholic lyrical style and stage presence reminiscent of European pop icons, the likes of Karin Dreijer Andersson and Dave Gahan,Southard has been described as a “bantam and lithe character “ whose remarkable voice manages to combine stark vulnerability with intense power. Layered over meticulously chopped beats, warbling synths and haunting vocal samples, Young Aundee's music is a nightmare pop landscape full of aimless souls, bankrupt lives, and crumbling nations in a world on the brink.

Sunmonks
Geoffrey C.K., Alexandra Steele, Dave Middleton, Julian Loy
-Sunmonks is a band based in the foothills of Northern California in the outskirts of Auburn, a gold rush era mining town that’s now home in equal measures to survivalists, pot growers and suburb dwellers.

-California's Sunmonks (§µn∑ønk§) combine brass-flourished world rhythms and tight knit lyrical harmonies.
Geoffrey and Alexandra sing songs and Julian and Dave play fat beats.
Busy and often tribal-sounding rhythms underpin weaving lyrical harmonies. Sewing together elements of many genres, the §µn∑ønk§ sound is in constant evolution. Utilizing loop pedals,
§µn∑ønk§ (Sunmonks) create hypnotic movements with brass, woodwind and vocals that serve as the backbone to lyrically busy and tight-nit melodies and harmonies.

Vocalists Geoffrey CK and Alexandra Steele met in 2005, but didn’t start the band until 2012 which gave them plenty of time to develop a fervid music philosophy and aesthetic. Initially the band was composed of just the two of them using a loop pedal to flesh out the arrangements of Geoffrey’s songs that saw him playing guitar, keys, bass, percussion and trumpet. Growing up in the foothills devoid of much of a scene, the LPs in their parents’ console stereos formed their initial influences: Wings, Talking Heads, Nat King Cole, Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Elton John and The Eurhythmics were early musical touchstones.
Geoffrey C.K. and Alexandra Steele formed §µn∑ønk§
(Sunmonks) in late 2012 around a collection of odd pop songs they'd written and the idea of taking the music on the road. Before going into a studio to record any material, they began touring the U.S., writing material and experimenting with different live performance approaches along the way.
In 2013 Julian Loy and Dave Middleton joined the Sunmonks on drums and bass respectively and the looping pedal was retired. Their first EP, In a Desert of Plenty, finds the 4-piece band finding their own footing with a quirky blend of melodic pop and classic R & B which is freely reminiscent of a time when horn sections were more prevalent than computers. The band is currently working on a full length album to be released in 2015.
