The Weeks

The Weeks are a “sludge pop” band from Nashville by way of Mississippi whose cathartic output of songs stems from the same root: their geography and disadvantaged youth. Perhaps best described as “Delta Rats,” The Weeks have truth and soul in everything they do, and in the midst of their thrashing, thoughtful, manic pop thrills, they never lose sight of the songs. Cyle, as the band's lyricist, writes about what he knows and is often autobiographical. Their music, arranged by Sam Williams, conveys the attitude and emotion that the band utilizes to punctuate their experiences, frame the impact of their surroundings and pointedly references their life in the South. This is equally true in their live show where attitude and amplitude are nuanced and ever present. In 2012, The Weeks signed to the Kings Of Leon’s record label, Serpents & Snakes, which released "The House We Grew Up In" in July 2012 and the Gutter Gaunt Gangster EP in September, 2012 with a full-length LP out March 2013.

-Turbo Fruits is a garage rock band from Nashville, Tennessee founded by Be Your Own Pet guitarist Jonas Stein.
Clearly, the Turbo Fruits are not athletes. They are, however, a rock n roll band and one that could likely take your state rock & roll champion to the mat in less time than it takes to cue up a record. What the Nashville, Tennessee quartet lack in physical adeptness they make up for in wild abandon and unfettered debauchery; in buzzsaw guitars and pummeling, primal rhythms. And they STILL look good in a unitard and head gear. Okay, that might not be true – we haven’t tested that theory yet, there wasn’t quite enough beer, there may never be enough beer – but they are definitely one of the most visceral rock groups in America, as is evidenced on their new album Butter.

-Have you ever had moments while listening to music where the sound carries your imagination off to another place, someplace exotic and adventurous, a place you can only visit in your mind? Has a band ever sounded so unique, so genuinely creative that they made you feel as if you had entered a foreign land? At least this is how many feel the first time they see Sol Cat.
With such distinctive grooves and melodies, Sol Cat has the power to get you off your feet and make you dance until you can dance no more. From their soulful, funky guitar riffs, thumping bass lines, and steady dance beats, Sol Cat incorporates elements of tribal Afro-beat rhythm and early 60’s psychedelic sounds into their refreshingly new form dance-rock.
