Rowland - Bass Mark Lierly - Drums -an American doom metal band from Little Rock, Arkansas formed in 2008. -Pallbearer is a metal band from Central Arkansas, formed in 2008 after spending time playing in various bands around the Little Rock underground metal scene. Paying homage to doom metal of old while still looking wholly forward, the band built upon the underground success of their initial demo offering in 2010 and their debut full length "Sorrow and Extinction" was released in February, 2012 to virtually universal critical acclaim. Now the band slowly marches onward to deliver its progressively-tinged beautiful gloom on a global scale. Sólstafir Ađalbjörn "Addi" Tryggvason Guđmundur Óli "Gummi" Pálmason Sćţór Maríus "Pjúddi" Sćţórsson Svavar "Svabbi" Austmann -from Reykjavík, Iceland -Sólstafir is an Icelandic metal band, formed in 1995. The band's name is the Icelandic word for crepuscular rays. After their third album was released in early 2009, it not only got exceptionally good reviews, but most critics also had a hard time putting Sólstafir’s music into a specific genre. Descriptions like “Sounds Like The Hellacopters if they went to art school and did a lot of Valium”, “Imagine if Nachtmystium, Alice In Chains, and Neurosis got hammered while listening to Entombed’s DCLXVI - To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak The Truth - it would sound something like this” and “Sigur Rós goes metal!” were becoming really common. Mortals Caryn (drums); Elizabeth (guitar); Lesley (bass). -from Brooklyn, NY -on Relapse Records Artists We Also Like: Death, Inquisition, Bolt Thrower, High on Fire, Kylesa, Watain, Sargeist, Repugnant, Entombed -Many heavy bands follow a straight line—they start a band with some people they know, they pick a well-worn genre, they write riffs and drum beats that sound pretty similar to all the other riffs and drum beats that have been written. That isn’t Mortals. |
