Desmadre was formed sometime post-primordial ooze when Kawaku god of thunder dripped peyote on a wandering skaterat named Shahya, who began to convulse and have magic visions that left him so permafried he could only communicate with guitar forever after. He wandered the world stringing his guitar with sea kelp and shoelaces and the finest hair of wayward maidens. Whirl Members: Nikki Nation - Vocals, Guitar, Songwriting; Dave Sonic- Bass; Jeff Dodge - Guitar, Backing Vocals; Rich D - Drums - from London, England (currently based in Northern California) Whirl is the creation of Nikki Nation, a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter and guitarist who has won over audiences and critics with captivating live performances and a beautifully-crafted, radio-friendly CD. Nikki originally formed the project in London, England, where she performed at many well-known venues to rave reviews, and subsequently reformed in the States, playing most major clubs in the NY metropolitan area including Mercury Lounge, CBGB's, Arlene's Grocery, Bitter End and many more. She has received airplay on both mainstream and college radio stations nationwide, including New York's Q104.3 and NJ's WFDU, and has been featured on a multitude of music sites, publications and podcasts. She has subsequently performed throughout the tri-state area as well as in VA, FL and CA. |
