And wail he does." -City Beat Magazine Whiskerman Members: Graham Patzner - vocals, guitar, violin, piano Will Lawrence - bass, mandolin Nick Cobbett - drums, guitar Charles Lloyd - guitar, sitar - from Oakland, CA The youngest of three brothers and the son of two musicians, Graham Patzner didn't have much choice. Starting on piano at age five and then moving on to violin, trumpet and guitar, the Whiskerman singer and front-man has cultivated a unique sound that is hard to pinpoint. His voice ranges from smoky to soaring, while his songs span a wide array of moods and genres, yet always remain soulful. Behind him is a tight band that includes Will Lawrence on bass, Nick Cobbett on drums, and Charles Lloyd sharing guitar duties. Collectively they form Whiskerman, and they are quickly becoming a force in the San Francisco Bay Area. decker. Members: Brandon Decker - from Sedona, AZ “When people ask what kind of music I play…I don’t really know what to say. All I can really say is that the desert is integral to my sound.” So says Brandon Decker. Since 2009, the Sedona, AZ based songwriter has written, produced and released a trove of mesmerizing music; an expansive palette of folk, gospel, rock and psychedelia recorded under the nom de plume decker. Northern Youth Members: Luke Messimer - from West Coast Northern Youth is the solo project of musician Luke Messimer. After spending many years in numerous other projects and moving from town to town along the West Coast frantically like a nomad, it became clear that it was time to settle on something that could be more honest than all other aspects of Luke's life. Northern Youth became that honest aspect. With Messimer playing all instruments and performing all vocal parts, it has forced him to be as real as possible and not rely on the help of others, except for brilliant producer/engineer Brent Lindemeyer, who is currently working with Northern Youth on the debut LP BOWS AND ARROWS. It's not "Rock", it's not "Folk", it's not "Pop", it's not "Indie", it's just the music Luke makes - each song differing from the last. Genre's are of the past and something Luke was never able to stick to anyway. |
