Its music draws influence from melodic punk rock bands as well as alternative and indie rock from the 90s. Their music is fast and melodic, drawing heavy influences from 1990s skate punk. They have toured with bands like Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, A Wilhelm Scream, Polar Bear Club, Crime In Stereo, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Broadway Calls, Living With Lions and Fireworks. Heartsounds Members: Ben Murray- Guitar, Vocals Laura Nichol- Guitar, Vocals Trey Derbes- Drums Bobby Taul- Bass - from: San Francisco, CA Heartsounds came into being after the demise of Light This City, when Ben Murray and Laura Nichol decided to pursue their passion for punk rock by writing and recording a full length record consisting of 12 fast and melodic tracks, entitled "Until We Surrender". Ben and Laura once again returned to Light This City producer, Zack Ohren for the recording, mixing and mastering of the record. "Until We Surrender" will see a release in late August on gatefold vinyl and digipak CD, through Ben's label, Creator-Destructor Records. Russ Rankin of Good Riddance/Only Crime from Santa Cruz CA Russ Rankin is the lead vocalist for melodic hardcore band Only Crime, Creep Division, and punk rock band Good Riddance. Both bands were signed to Fat Wreck Chords until Good Riddance announced their breakup on April 3, 2007. However, as of February 2012, Good Riddance has reformed. Rankin was also a member of Fury 66 and State of Grace. He has also lent his voice to songs by Rise Against, Ensign, Comeback Kid. Additionally, Rankin spends time producing bands. Most recently, he performed a cover of the Johnny Cash song "Walk the Line" for a punk rock tribute album entitled All Aboard: A Tribute to Johnny Cash. Rankin appeared in the independent documentary, Meditate and Destroy, that focuses on Dharma Punx author Noah Levine. Along with his band Good Riddance, they can be seen in the film performing at the Catalyst club in Santa Cruz, California. |
