(Or a 5 piece from SF, fusing elements of post punk, shoe gaze, psych rock, & pop) San Francisco’s Vela Eyes blends indie, shoegaze and post punk with a touch of psych to create lush, timeless pop music that strongly evokes images of the city’s bohemian past. Lyrically, they are inspired by fantasies of love, and the beauty of empowerment. The band started as a side project between guitarist Ian Zazueta (Delle Vellum, the Paradise Boys) and front woman Florie Maschmeyer – completed by Andrew Dietrich Burmester (Kill Moi, Madelia, Rich Girls) as bass player; Jef Pauly (New Diplomat, Modi) as drummer; and Julia Johari as second keyboard player, guitarist and background vocalist. - The Y Axes Alexi Belchere - Vocals, Devin Nelson - Guitar/vocals, Aaron Larson - Bass, Jon Lanthier - Keys, Nick Schneider - Drums from San Francisco, CA San Francisco's The Y Axes are a unique amalgam of anachronistic sound. Drawing influence from a myriad era of popular and esoteric music to craft a fun original style. Lush synths, technical guitar, and groovy rhythms help drive their quirky compelling stories about coming of age in chaos and finding love in the direst of situations. The Y Axes are pop for music nerds. Strange Hotel Frankie Abreau // Lead, Myles Deiaco // Bass, Sean Reilly // Guitar, Timi Aristil // Drums from San Francisco, CA Strange Hotel is a San Francisco based, four-piece Rock band. The band is consisted of lead singer and guitarist Frank Abreau Salazar, guitarist Sean Reilly, drummer Timi Aristil, and Myles Deiaco on bass. Their distinct range of musical influences and taste for art collides, creating a relatable and unique interpretation of music. Some call their colorful yet sometimes dark approach, “Gothedelic”. Along with rocking out, they don't shy away from embracing the simplicity of an acoustic composition and the assurance it carries |
