Snow Angel is the brainchild of Gabby La La, who is most famous for touring with Les Claypool's Fancy Band and turning up her electric sitar all the to 11. Claypool also produced and released La La's first album "Be Careful What You Wish For..." on his record label. Snow Angel will be releasing a kickstarter funded 7" record in 2015, accompanied by two music videos! Be Calm Honcho Shannon - Vocals, Jacob - Guitar, Alex - Bass, Mikey - Drums from San Francisco, CA San Francisco quartet Be Calm Honcho is on some kind of genre defying musical mission. “Falling somewhere between dive-bar-stomp and showtune surf” (CMJ) “Be Calm Honcho mixes the warmth of West Coast pop with a heavy dose of jangly indie rock and a pinch of bluesy soul for a sound that’s nothing short of magical.” (indie-music.com) With their debut album released July 2014 on Crossbill Records, Jacob, Mikey, Alex and Shannon have crafted a record that “ranges from aggressive to docile and these kids are just as ready to strike as they are to recoil.”(In Your Speakers B. Eric Andrew Kuhn from Oakland, CA Surpisingly melodic underneath all the bravado this band taps into the darker niches of classic rock and guitar loving indie acts that like to push their amps and shit to the limit. Stand-out track Miss Carolina is augmented with a great bottleneck guitar on top of the in-your-face kick drum. It’s not all loud as fuck. Oakland and Anaheim (Ain’t Divided by the 5 Tonight) is a solo acoustic showcase for Parks, singing about youngsters that have been gunned down by the police. |
