Dubois once saw a riot goin’ on, and where the hell and highwater swirls ‘round to the knees. Le Vice Alex Lee -Vocals/Keys Dame the Drummer -Drums/Drum Machines Sean Stillinger -Bass/Keys Renzo Staiano -Guitars/Keys -from SF -Imagine fix wheeled bicycles chained to a yacht, dirty Chuck Taylor's and Dom Perignon, Hip Hop and R&B with a hipster twist. This San Francisco foursome has managed to craft an indulgent sound that takes advantage of all the things we love to hate - a little sparkly bling bling mixed with a dash of dirty hipster. Le VICE is an Indie Hip Hop and R&B band that's really an Urban-Indie-Rock- Electro-Funk-Hip Hop-Pop band. With as much swag as Lil B but the talent of highly paid session musicians, LV is on track to be the coolest new band in the business . Liphemra Liphemra from Los Angeles, CA- Liphemra has created a mysterious soundscape where the profound discomfort and nauseating side effects of heartache reside, a place where electronic beats, jazz, and hip hop are all fused together to create a multi-textured pulse. Shifting between feelings of profound hurt to just not caring, Liphemra conjures a sense of being thrown into the ocean: she takes you from the surface down to the very bottom. In tracks like "Champion," her jazz-inspired vocals turn into a lament of apology, while tracks like "Bloodwork" reveal something sinister, almost ghostly. Liphemra records under a mysterious guise, preferring not to reveal her identity. She can count Flying Lotus as a direct mentor and has been playing the drums since middle school. Having shared the stage with an impressive roster of acts, she recently opened for Connan Mockasin and is playing the Desert Daze Festival this month with groups including Blonde Redhead and DIIV.- |
