Theyve been in some of the bands that have burned out the backs of your eyeballs, Yeah Yeah Yeahing you into a jitter sex frenzy, Locusting your flesh down to bare white bones, and spurting Blood Brothers all over your clean white sheets. It was always fun, though, wasnt it? We always came back for more, did we not? Loma Prieta val sean brian james -from SF -Formed in 2005, Loma Prieta have been a mainstay of the Bay Area hardcore community for more than half a decade. While Loma Prieta’s sound is difficult to describe, it is clear that they come from the rich tradition of creative Bay Area hardcore bands such as Mohinder, Funeral Diner, Bread and Circuits, Yaphet Kotto, and Indian Summer. Eschewing sub-genres in favor of organically writing songs that are personally fulfilling, each Loma Prieta record is substantially different from the last. Nonetheless, Loma Prieta have managed to forge a distinctive form of expression that is entirely their own. Crime Desire from San Diego, CA -a criminally underrated hardcore/punk band of this decade. -rock-solid rhythm section this is the work of a band that's firing on all fucking cylinders. |
