Plain and simple, Great Apes are a punk band from San Francisco. Minimalism reigns. Play it fast, play it loud, and make it stick. While we all have been or are in an array of more complex projects, this band is founded on pop-sensible simplicity and the notion that music, much like a bio, is often at its finest when it’s spit out intensely, with concision and honesty. All Eyes West members of The Arrivals, The Bomb : Justin Miller - Jeff Dean - Ronnie DiCola from Chicago, IL- This is All Eyes West from Chicago, IL. Since forming in mid 2010, they have been winning over crowds by destroying stages across the US and Europe. The band has toured tirelessly in support of their smashing debut record (Self-titled - Jump Start Records 2011), sharing stages with the likes of Bob Mould, The Joy Formidable, Alkaline Trio, Samiam, Seaweed, Knapsack, OFF!, Rival Schools, Braid, Local H, Amusement Parks on Fire and many more. Last year saw the release of 2 split 7”s, one on SideOneDummy Records and another on Jump Start. After returning from a tour through Europe earlier this year, the band made it’s SXSW debut by playing multiple sets including Death Match 2013, sponsored by Converse & Thrasher Magazine. The band just wrapped up their latest album with J. Robbins at his Magpie Cage studio in Baltimore. The album, 'DOOMER' features twelve tracks, highlighting the band’s raw but melodic sound and capturing the intensity of their live shows. Onboard for drum duty was Tucker Rule (Thursday,I Hate Our Freedom,Get Involved). Ronnie DiCola (The Arrivals) stepped in to be the full time drummer in 2014. The band plans to tour extensively in support of the new album Everybody Row Jack: Guitar & Vocals, Jasmine: Organ & Vocals, Steven: Bass, Eric: Drums from California- PUNK - SOUL - ROCK & ROLL MEMBERS OF COMADRE, KNOW SECRETS, NO BABIES- Super Unison Meghan, Dani, Kevin, and Justin from San Francisco, CA- Super Unison's EP strikes an exciting balance between aggression and musicality produced by dynamic songwriting, strong performances, thoughtful lyrics, and tasteful production. The resulting mix of songs is an appealing and refreshing sound that honors the genre’s greats while remaining wholly original. Can’t wait to hear more from this band.- - |
