sleepercub
David Richmond - Vox || Guitar || Computer, Angelique Ngo - Vox || Guitar || Synth, Chris Lewis - Bass
Josh Zacarias - Drums
-from Ventura, Ca

Spawned off the Pacific Coast town of Ventura, California, sleepercub has been emitting a tapestry of ethereal sound and likely silence, interwoven and slowly penetrating like the sun poking through the thick marine layers of a usual ocean side morning in concession. In an attempt to deter a treacherous path of addiction and to fill a spiritual void, the duo succumbed to an array of analog and digital tools to craft what they both shared to be a common love of music. While they both shared similar spiritual defeats, David and Angelique’s paths crossed in a much more positive light with music, often paralleling their vocal melodies with the poignancy of love and loss.

It was not long before the duo realized the role music played in their spiritual evolution and sustainability. Sleepercub spent the winter in a dormant state before emerging for the first time in 2014. They quickly developed a sound as an escape from addiction and alienation.

Their music evokes imagery of fog-engulfed redwoods and lusterless skies, letting in the terror twilight of dawn while shedding the shadows that plague their past; a sweet sincerity that is as personal as it is beautifully vague. Since their formation and collaboration, sleepercub have strived to create and share their music with the external world, a spiritual projection of universal connectivity translated into the universal language of music.

Sad Robot
Katherine Pawlak Nicolas Perez
-from Los Angeles, CA

Sad Robot's unique enveloping and cinematic sound has enabled them to create their own voice in the indie rock scene. The band’s music has evolved over the past three years and is now being coined cinepop (cinematic pop). With a high-energy stage show and unique musical style this unsigned band has accomplished a lot in their short existence.

In 2011 Sad Robot released their debut album, "The Beginning of the End." The same year, they also performed at the Staples Center as the sole musical guest for the L.A. Kings and Star 98.7/Rocco's Music Nights.  Their single "Hold On" played on KROQ’s Locals Only show for 13 consecutive weeks as well as being featured as KROQ’s Song of the Day on 5/14/2013 and again on 9/11/2013.  Other songs such as "Sing" and the "Obeah Man" were featured on the 2013 Winter X Games, "Hold On" (Reprise) was the promo song on Bones season 8 (FOX), Heartland season 8 (UP), and Roxy Clothing's July 2013 "Roxy girls who dare themselves" promo.  More of Sad Robot's music made its appearance on the Oxygen network show" Bad Girls Club" and various Indie Films.-

Built For The Sea
Lia Rose, Daniel Mckenzie + Associates.
-from San Francisco, CA

-In 2006, Lia dragged Daniel to a post-apocalyptic party in a bayside warehouse. People kept warm alongside a stack of burning palettes. Lia sang and played a weathered piano by candle light while Daniel lightly tapped his foot. Foreshadowing? They had to run to escape the cops. Nearly a decade later, the two are re-launching a project they've both loved & missed: Built for the Sea ... with a renovation of sorts.
