Their motto: We will see you down at the shore, in your canoe, and give you the push you won’t admit you need. "Folk/psychedelic/alt-rock quartet Blisses B have a new LP out, one full of bouncy melodies, undaunted optimism, and dance-inducing rhythms. Entitled Sea Level Astronomy, the band was inspired by the realization of how seemingly limited perspectives, like an observatory placed at sea level, have the potential to achieve great things, like discovering a Jupiter-sized planet. It is this belief in the overlooked power of perspective that drives the positive energy pulsating throughout the record. From the funky eponymous track to the laid back groove of “Weapons Grade,” Blisses B guarantees that each song on the album will jangle around your brain for days on end. Opener “Montevideo” is particularly seductive with its charging tom-tom drumbeat, exuberant chorus and killer bass line. It’s a style that recalls musical influences as varied as TV On The Radio to Phish to Blitzen Trapper." - The Bay Bridged Cola Cliff Rawson-VOCALS,GUITAR,SONGS Evan Bautista- DRUMS Matthew Davis-BASS Peter Colclasure-KEYS -from San Jose, CA -We make rock and roll music in the vein of the stones, the velvets (undergrounds), tom petty, the doors. Raven Marcus Natalia Rose Miner - vox, mandolin Bronwyn Dexter - vox, bass guitar Rob Johnson - drums, harmonica, washboard -from San Francisco, CA -San Francsico based, Raven Marcus, falls under the genre 'cowboy glam rock', which is mandolin inspired rock 'n' roll with drums, bass and complex vocal harmonies. This three piece puts on entertaining live performances! Natalia Rose sings and plays mandolin. Born in San Francsico and raised in Montana, she's been making up songs since she was three. Her first love is singing...creating vocal 'gymnastics' with the melodies she writes. Self-taught, her mandolin style is unique to the 'cowboy glam rock' genre. Natalia was a member of SF alt a'capella choir: Conspiracy of Venus from 2009 until 2015. Bronwyn Dexter, born and raised in Seattle has been strongly influenced by the Northwest grunge and indie rock scenes. She started writing songs at the age of six and got her first guitar when she 14. She loves messing around on all instruments, but feels most comfortable singing and playing the guitar. Rob Johnson, born in Colrain, Mass, has been playing drums since the 5th grade and has been playing in bands ever since. He came to San Francsico via Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he studied hand percussion and worked as an accompanist for dancers. |
