Grandall formed Lemolo in 2009 and the band has since been named one of the Best Seattle Bands by Seattle Magazine, was voted Best New Band by City Arts Magazine and was just named one of the Top Bands Rocking Seattle Music by Seattle Magazine. The sophomore Lemolo album, Red Right Return, is out now after a sold out album release show at The Crocodile in Seattle. “The second album from this Seattle project spearheaded by Meagan Grandall is an impressive set of moody dream-pop with a spacious sound featuring stately piano, atmospheric synths, cello, guitar and spare percussion accompanying her crystalline vocals and intimate lyrics,” said KEXP 90.3 FM. Faux Canada Melinda Wegent, David Lean Alejandro Soini, Kevin Hobson -from San Francisco, CA -Bonjour! Faux Canada is a new SF indie pop rock group from members of My First Earthquake, Sir Salvatore, and Likker. They grew up with the sounds of classic indie rock but also love the synth stylings of today. The result is a scrumtrulescent blend of old and new, like an AMC Gremlin with a hover conversion. Desario Mike Carr / bass John Conley / guitar, vocals Kirklyn Cox / drums Michael Yoas / guitar -from Sacramento, CA -Following several years of successful live shows, including opening for Echo & The Bunnymen, The Charlatans UK, Foals, and others of the like, Desario is back with their much anticipated EP release: Red Returns. With their well-reviewed full-length, Mixer, as their template, Desario has moved forward crafting songs with tighter arrangements and “to the point” hooks, reminiscent of classic ‘80s and ‘90s Britpop, shoegaze, and indie, with a current aesthetic. Deciding to forego the DIY approach this time around, Desario chose to work with highly respected Sacramento veteran recording engineer Tony Cale. With Desario focusing on performance and Cale manning the board, the sessions resulted in a sound that will pleasantly surprise fans of the band’s previous releases and please fans of the band’s live shows. More raw, stripped down, and rhythm-section based than previous recordings, Red Returns still highlights the dual guitar approach that brought them attention. Red Returns is definitely the fresh, exciting, and logical next chapter for Desario, with many, many more chapters yet to follow... |
