The track “Sabbath Highway” just sets an expectation of greatness simply by the name. The band first began with Tim Narducci and Chris “Cornbread” Lombardo as they exited their previous project Spiral Arms. With this duo keeping their musical chemistry together it raised the bar of what is expected from the new project we now know as The Watchers. You add Ex-Orchid drummer Carter Kennedy and The Venting Machine guitarist Jeremy Von Eppic to the band and my ears are expecting to hear great things. Let me tell you now that I wasn’t let down and I am highly anticipating the rest of their debut and seeing them in live. Check out “Sabbath Highway” below and you will likely become an instant fan. Swamphammer Damien Castaneda- Vocals, Stephen Lynch - Guitar Cody Antill - Drums, Marc Marchetti - Guitar, Laura Scott - Bass -from San Mateo, CA -Founded by Stephen Lynch and Laura Scott in 2011, Swamphammer began collaborating from opposing influences of heavy rock, slide guitar blues, and old school country. Until the summer of 2012, the band cycled through drummers and singers eventually landing drummer Cody Antill followed by singer Eric 'Zed' Nightpipe. In December 2012, Swamphammer entered Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco to record their first four songs; Nothing, Invisible, Bulger, and Jugs O' Lightnin'. Shortly after this recording... the untimely death of singer Zed in January 2013, the future seem bleak. The spring of 2013 brought new hope as 2nd guitarist Zachary Crockett joined the band. Singer Damien 'El Dante' Castaneda joined that summer filling out the line up. Back to the studio they went to record a 2nd batch of songs; Voodoo Doll, Weed Shack, Tumbleweed, War Path, and Constrictor. In the summer of 2014 Zach departed, leading to a lengthy search leading the band to guitarist Marc Marchetti in spring of 2015, making up the current line up. Swamphammer has worked their way to local success playing venues such as the Whisky-a-Go-Go and the Rockbar Theater located in San Jose where they frequent the stage with such acts as Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Davey Pattisons's Gamma, and Lynchmob. Recent events include Riki Rachtman's Cathouse Live where they were selected to play the main stage along side bands such as Extreme, Sebastian Bach, and Ace Frehley. In May 2015 Swamphammer hosted their EP and "Voodoo Doll" video release show at the Club Fox in Redwood City. They have also played at the Haight Ashbury Street Fair and Hollister Bike Rally as well.
