Mixing reverb-drenched jangly guitars with sun-soaked harmonies reminiscent of 60’s pop and surf bands, along with a plethora of influences from more fuzzed-out contemporary artists, The She’s have crafted a sound replete with emotion and sound: sometimes happy-go-lucky, sometimes gloomy/melancholy, all around brilliant; a testament to the city they were born and raised in. The She's have been playing together since elementary school. Their early music is a reflection of their social and musical lives colliding- coming out of a unique perspective for high school students having been tossed into the music industry at such a young age. Today, their songs develop into themes of nostalgia, the exploration of solitude, love, and heartache. Dominant Legs Ryan Lynch -from San Francisco, CA -Dominant Legs is an American indie pop group formed in 2008 and based in San Francisco, California. Emotional -from San Francisco, CA - Ahh…The Name's Emotional, Baby!" arrives as a multi-label effort that will awaken a passionate surrender of humility and guilty pleasure. Following his heroes Kate Bush, Gram Parsons, and The Smashing Pumpkins, Wakefield casts a spell of irresistible tangy guitar reverb, bending synths, and candid melodies. It is a pop record, it is a true story, and it is a testament to the modern state of feelings. Written and recorded over the course of two-years with producer Ole Haarstad (Melted Toys), multi-instrumentalist Emmet Moskowitz, a.k.a., “Muzzy” (Froogy’s Groovies), and mastered by Patrick Haight (Spot-On Sound), the LP features guest appearances by vocalist Ryan Grubbs (Tiaras, Ganglians) and guitarist Adam Finken (Male Gaze, Tiaras, Blasted Canyons). It is the stoney memory of that impossible psychic love that shared an appreciation of Taco Bell. It is the tale of an artist who boldly says, “It’s okay to be emotional.” Tyler Haddow - drums Bo Prochnow - guitar, vocals, saxophone Henry Thiemann - bass -from Oakland, CA -Every few months the members of Baby Dumpling stir from a deep slumber, creep out of their labyrinthine dwellings, and gather under the light of a full moon to play intricate songs about life as a minotaur. They refer to their careful creations as "dream jazz" but refuse any further requests to explain themselves. From their lyrics we have been able to glean that their songs are all written in a trancelike state, the sounds of which are expressed through melting guitars, mesmerizing basslines, gauzy harmonies and simmering drumbeats. Through a series of runes carved into the bark of the sacred fig tree, Baby Dumpling has communicated to us that they will be releasing their debut EP "Quite Nights" in the coming months. This is all we know for now. Dj Primo Pinto -from -DJ |
