The Rural Alberta Advantage
Paul Banwatt
Nils Edenloff
Robin Hatch
-from Toronto, Canada

-The Rural Alberta Advantage's percussive folk songs about hometowns and heartbreak, and relentless tradition of touring have taken the trio from humble recognition amongst indie rock die-hards as "Canada's best unsigned band" to sold-out tours and devoted fans around the world with featured coverage from Spin Magazine, Pitchfork, The New York Times and Rolling Stone all taking note. The band has been nominated for two 2012 Juno Awards (Best New Group and Video of the Year for their song “Stamp”), long listed for the 2011 Polaris Award, and awarded the CBC Music Prize for Best Independent Artist in 2014.

The RAA has released three albums on Saddle Creek/Paper Bag Records: Hometowns (2009), Departing (2011) and Mended With Gold (2014). The trio of Nils Edenloff, Paul Banwatt and Robin Hatch are currently hard at work on the band’s next album and will be previewing new material the way they love best, by hitting the road for a unique set of road testing shows in some of their favourite venues across North America and Europe through 2016/2017.

“I've never been good about focusing on a theme or having a specific plan at the outset of a new record”, says Nils, “For me, writing music tends to be more of a constantly evolving process, like following one strange trail after another until a song has come to its general conclusion. This time around, we're following that natural writing process more and inviting the fans to come along those trails with us.”

Travis Hayes
Travis Hayes
-from San Francisco, CA

-Travis Hayes isn’t the type to wear emotions on his sleeve. He saves that for his songs- brutally honest most of the time, and endearingly heartfelt all the time. Hayes continues the timeless tradition of soul-bearing songwriting to interpret our shared human experience into music.

Love, heartbreak, fading friendships, fraught relationships – they’re all expressed achingly through his impassioned voice and melodic guitar lines. Hayes echoes the earnestness of Springsteen, the pop sensibility of Petty, and the raw emotion of Ryan Adams. In his career, Hayes has shared the stage with acts such as Nathaniel Rateliff, Langhorne Slim and Chuck Ragan. In addition, he’s made appearances at San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival, SXSW, Ocean Beach Music and Art Festival and embarked on many extensive tours around the United States. Simply put by Music Junkie Press, “If you are from the Bay Area and haven’t been to a Travis Hayes show, then you are missing out.”

Cave Clove
Katie Clover- vocals, guitar
Melissa Kilkuskie- drums
Brent Curriden- guitar
Alisa Saario- bass
-from Oakland, CA

-Cave Clove is a indie rock quartet. A wash of soul and tight orchestration create the Cave Clove mood - a rock sound with smoky vocals, lurid harmonies and atmospheric rhythms. With overtones of pop and R&B, Cave Clove takes niche genres and integrates them into the band’s signature sultry tension, with big sound closing in around torch melodies.

Following October 2014's release of their single "Kyrie," Cave Clove has a new full length due out in fall of 2017. Cave Clove has earned accolades from the East Bay Express and Bay Bridged since starting in 2012.

Field Medic

kevin patrick
-from San Francisco, CA

-some more lovely lofi goodness from Field Medic, the project name for singer/songwriter Kevin Sullivan. It's a side project from his other band, Rin Tin Tiger. His voice is intensely emotional to the point of heartbreak. With his acoustic guitar he's a melodic quiet storm. Field Medic captures that spirit perfectly with their latest single “uuu" .... a norman rockwell painting of me & my boombox band after band practice ...
