They are known for their incredibly unique sound, pulling from influences such as Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Fiona Apple, and many more. Limiting their sound simply to ‘rock’ does not do the band justice. The blending of powerhouse grooves, soul-shaking bass, jaw-dropping guitar lines, and melodies packed with sheer emotion make this band an experience unlike any other. Formerly known as Jesús and the Rabbis, the band has made quite an impact on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. They were selected to play the debut Santa Cruz Music Festival in 2013 and have toured to Austin for SXSW week twice (2014/2015), which included playing Red Gorilla showcases and Ugly Whale showcase. They've opened for national touring acts like Dilly Dally from Toronto, as well as legendary artists like Lita Ford. Big things are afoot for this talented foursome that are known for combining various genres into a driving rock force with a sultry and soulful front-woman that demands your attention. Bones of a Feather Julie Indelicato - Vox, Guitar, Chills Emma Hyatt - Drums, Mood, Heartbeat Suyá Nascimento - Vox, Licks, Attitude Sarah Mobarekeh - Keys, Horns, Atmosphere Jay-Marie Hill - Bass, Sax, Soul, Swag -from San Francisco, CA -Bones of a Feather, a local San Francisco band, formed in 2012 when Emma Hyatt (drums, heartbeat) started jamming on a weekly basis with Julie Indelicato (vocals, guitar, chills) at her studio apartment. Over the winter of 2013-2014, they added three other badass queer/QPOC musicians, Jay-Marie Hill (bass, sax, swag), Sarah Mobarekeh (keys, horn, atmosphere) and Suya Nascimento (guitar, licks, vox). Surfing through a variety of genres, Bones of a Feather draws from the individual musicians vastly different musical influences to create an entirely new take on the songs they pay tribute to. They have graced stages such as Thee Parkside, Viracocha, DNA Lounge, Cafe Du Norde, Bottom of the Hill, El Rio and San Francisco Pride 2013. Make sure to keep an eye out for upcoming shows! Periscope Trevor Gabriel - Lead Guitar Michael Broadus - Drums Matt Harrison - Vocals/Guitar -from San Jose, CA -Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Periscope's sound is an intricate blend of guitar-driven alternative and progressive rock tempered with classic pop sensibilities. The experience is definitely their own, yet nostalgically familiar. The distinctly woven parts, in a sea of sound, are catalyzed by a concisely heavy-handed rhythm section that brings a strength and tightly-leashed ferocity to sometimes fragile concepts and lyrics - often dark and forlorn characters are given drama and weight by the deep musical oceans they venture into together. Periscope, “The Submersive Alternative”. Periscope is Matt Harrison, Trevor Gabriel and Michael Broadus. Originally forged in the winter of 2013, the project aimed to fulfill the separate musical desires of each individual. Periscope was conceived through chemistry rather than the specific vision of any one person. It became a collective that would allow them all to operate without any set limitations. Though the three had vastly different musical experience and taste they all loved it equally, and shared an appreciation for a genuinely well crafted product. Gabriel, the bands “Musical Super Computer”, had returned to the bay from The California Institute of the Arts with an increased wealth of musical knowledge and the degree and drive to prove it. Harrison had been playing in other projects, but his real talents as a song writer and front man had not yet been realized. This was, however, instantly recognized by the rest of the trio as Harrison's tenacity and energy are unmistakable. Broadus brings to the table a high energy, well versed, back of the beat playing style and also acts as the bands producer, that is until Rick Rubin finally takes their calls. David Pollack - Vocals/Guitar -from New York, NY -NYC native David Pollack was raised on the music of Paul Simon, James Taylor & The Beatles. At the age of 12, he began playing guitar inspired by post punk and indie rock acts like Weezer and Death Cab for Cutie. After successfully forming the bands Play in high school and Bridges in college, he is now pursuing a solo career! |
