Moonrise Nation
Arden // Eva // Emma
-from Chicago, IL

-At turns ethereal and powerful, Moonrise Nation—releasing their debut album, Glamour Child, on July 28—create aural experiences that pulse from ear to heart. The trio of keyboardist Arden Baldinger, cellist Eva Baldinger, and guitarist Emma McCall (all share songwriting and vocal duties) hails from Oak Park, Illinois, also home to Ernest Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright. Like those kindred spirits, their storytelling begins in a very personal place, but is always sculpted into something universal. Its first single is the title track, about a toxic relationship, which has already tallied more than a half-million streams.

As teenagers, the Americana-pop Moonrise Nation played local bars, put their music on SoundCloud, and recorded a folky, self-titled EP, produced by David Z (Prince, Etta James). It was released in 2014 by his brother, Bobby Z (a member of the Revolution, Prince’s band), who continues to serve as an artistic sounding board for the trio.

Glamour Child, Moonrise Nation’s latest album, was produced by Stephen Shirk (Delta Spirit, Alabama Shakes) and took three years to make. A vivid time capsule of the trio’s growth from teenagers to adulthood, it captures the vertiginous, Millennial high-lows of self-confidence and doubt, happiness and practicality, innocence and reality.

Dagmar
Gemma Rose - voice/bass
Miranda Lee - voice/keys/guitar
Sometimes joined by:
Dana T - voice/guitar
Justin LeDuc - Percussion
-from Fairfield, IA/San Francisco, CA
-Dagmar is an indie classical, harmony driven band recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area from their prairie homeland of Iowa. A new music project with history, Gemma Cohen (vocals, bass) and Miranda Mallard (vocals, keyboard, guitar) are Dagmar's core. They have attained sister status after having sung together for over 8 years in the trio Rock Paper Scissors, and now as Dagmar since 2014.

Gemma and Miranda create original music while rocking their curly manes and singing from the depths of their souls. Harmonies continue to be a staple for this duo along with influences ranging from Phillip Glass to the Fleet Foxes. Dagmar's sound is raw, challenging, a vulnerable vocal driven exposition of Medieval harmonies and uncrumpled diaries.

Zelma Stone
Chloe Zelma and friends
-from the Bay Area, CA

-Zelma Stone is an indie folk rock band based in the SF Bay Area. Original songs and vocals by female lead, Chloe Zelma. Recommend if you like Big Thief, Angel Olsen, Wye Oak, and Waxahatchee.
