Matt Robeson with White Light Prism whitelightprism.com/ New Spell Leanne Kelly Jacob Frautschi -from San Francisco, CA -Dark indie pop with female vocals, this SF Bay Area project creates dynamic, cerebral music. The unifying force behind New Spell's sound is songwriter Leanne Kelly's wandering vocals and keyboard-centric songwriting. Drums and synth bass embellish compelling layers of sound in a uniquely captivating style. Great Highway [Jason Hunter-vocals, bass, sax] [Sarah Morgan-vocals, keyboard] [Sean McAllister-lead guitar] [Meredith Whelan-DJ table, percussion] [Makiko Harris-violin] -from San Francisco, CA -Great Highway originally formed in 2012 as an acoustic guitar-driven pop-rock group, but over the years has blossomed into an edgy electronic rock outfit that represents the eclectic electro scene thriving in the SF Bay Area. To date, Great Highway has developed a signature brand of dark electropop that seamlessly blends pumping electronic sounds with analog instrumentation. Their earworm songs package venomous and sorrowful lyrics with the lush, moody vibes of The Xx, the powerhouse male-female vocals of The Naked & Famous, and the dance-y yet sentimental arrangements of ODESZA. Tremor Low Don Bellenger Fabian Paredes Ariel Utz Herve Gross -from Oakland, CA -Tremor Low comes from fucking Oakland, California. They sound like synthesizers, drum machines, delay and distortion pedals in exactly that order. Tremor Low has been making music since 2009, and have played venues like Great American Music Hall, Bottom of the Hill and Popscene. In 2013, Tremor Low was the resident band at the Beautiful Buzzz SXSW showcase and have released multiple videos to great acclaim. At home, we've shared the stage with Holy Ghost, Moving Units, The Trims, and Parallels. The band has always been Don Bellenger and Fabian Paredes, and has recently added Herve Gross and Ariel Utz Wirnsberger to synthesizing duties. Tremor Low has always had a flair for the unconventional and is currently pursuing indie band glory in the form of video game scoring while still playing packed shows to audiences in the greater Bay Area.
