The Telescopes have been mining a unique anti-myopian seam of highly influential experimental, drone, noise, dream & psych for over 20 years. Their first record was a split flex-disc with Loop on Cheree Records. After a further two critically acclaimed singles for the label, they moved to What Goes On Records, where they released another two EPs and their debut album “Taste”. All of which found their way to the top of the UK independent charts, gathering ‘single of the week’ / ‘album of the month’ status in all of the British music papers of the time. Tours followed with Spacemen 3, Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain. And it wasn’t long before The Telescopes were headliners themselves. Bark Psychosis, Whipping Boy, Slowdive, Bleach, The Cranesand Ride all played some of their earlier shows supporting them. In 1990 the group appeared at one of the UK’s biggest festivals of the time, The Reading Festival. They were one of the few bands that weren’t bottled off the stage at the event. However, the increasing violent interactions with audiences at their shows saw the group step away from their noise origins and head towards a more introspective psychedelic sound. It was around this time that What Goes On folded and Alan McGee stepped in to release the group’s material from the hands of official receivership. One of the more interesting bands that were signed to Creation Records. The group released their second album and a string of EPs for the label. Working with Douglas Hart (The Jesus and Mary Chain) on their videos, visual artist Paul Cannel on their sleeve work and Laika’s Guy Fixsen in the studio. The final EP for the label registered in the UK mainstream top 80 after being hit listed on BBC Radio 1 by Mark Goodyear. The group were also favoured by John Peel and recorded two BBC Radio 1 sessions for him. Marc Riley and Mark Radcliffe also had them in the studio for a session around the time of their 2nd album and MTV ran features. The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis described The Telescopes as having “an almost fragile sense of elegance and melody”. Then in 1992 the group underwent an eight year hiatus, resuming output in the year 2000 with a revolving line up. A stream of releases followed on labels such as Double Agent (USA), Trensmat (Ireland), Champion Version (UK), Antenna (UK), Norman Records (UK), Static Charge (UK), Mind Expansion (USA), Fourier Transform (UK), Textile Records (France), Dream Machine Records (UK) and Hungry Audio (UK). Most physical copies selling out in advance. “The Telescopes have resurfaced and I am amazed and glad they are still practicing their mysterious art” (John Peel) LSD And The Search For God {co-headline} -from San Francisco, CA -LSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005––seemingly from another place and time––dosing audiences with hypnotic performances built upon swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, fuzzed-out pop melodies, and dreamy male/female vocal harmonies. As reviews of shows drew comparisons to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3, and Sonic Youth, the band quickly developed a must-see reputation within San Francisco’s underground psychedelic music community. LSD's self-titled debut EP (Mind Expansion Records, 2007) sold out from the record label and its distributors prior to the official release date. It earned critical acclaim and frequently appears on lists of essential shoegaze releases. The EP was twice reissued on vinyl (Deep Space Recordings, 2008, 2015) and twice on cassette (Cellar Door Tapes, 2015). Songs from the EP were featured on three compilations: Mind Expansion Vol. 1, M.E. Vol. 2, and Australian nugazer compilation Take Me on the Wildest Spree (Rubber Records/EMI, 2008). In 2006 legendary Creation Records band The Telescopes invited LSD to joins as they embarked on their first-ever U.S. tour. This tour was the beginning of multiple U.S. tours and a Paris show with both bands over the years, with Andy Liszt and Chris Fifield performing as members of both LSD and The Telescopes each night. This collaboration led to two Telescopes recording projects in Los Angeles and resulted in two records: the acclaimed EP, Harm (Neon Sigh 2014), and a 7” single, Thrown (Genjing Records 2015). LSD remained busy over the next few years writing, recording, and performing around the U.S. and Canada. Highlights include gigs with Lilys, a tour with Martin Rev (Suicide), two tours with Sonic Boom (of Spacemen 3), and performances at Levitation-- Austin Psych Fest (2013), Bathysphere (2013) with A Place To Bury Strangers, and SoCal's Desert Stars (2008 and 2014), first with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and then with The Dandy Warhols. In 2016 LSD released Heaven Is a Place (Deep Space Records), which captured a snapshot in time soon after the addition of Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre) on drums. Like the previous EP, Heaven garnered critical acclaim and showed up on Best Of lists, with Pop Matters calling it, "a long-awaited sermon for the faithful and a blazing induction for new converts." The vinyl version has since sold out and is scheduled for re-press in summer of 2017 (Deep Space Recordings). In 2016 supporting their new release LSD toured the U.S. West Coast, Canada, and twice in Europe, including performances at Manchester's Cosmosis Festival (w/ The Jesus and Mary Chain), Portugal's Reverence Valada (w/ The Damned, The Oh Sees, and Silver Apples), Calgary's Garbage Daze, and California's Desert Daze (w/ Brian Jonestown Massacre). Marmaladies -Kyle DeMartini, Marit Savander, Craig Jacobs, Yogev Hiller, Scott Van Zandt -Marmaladies is a San Francisco based group merging from different corners of the world into one cohesive roller coaster of many genres, featuring vocalists Kyle DeMartini and Marith Savander who dive into a Lee and Nancy dynamic. Along side Yogev Hiller on lead guitar playing some of the most unique, tasteful guitar riffs known to modern music. Jazz extraordinaire Craig Jacobs lays the sensual backbone.
