The Hacienda-Heights quartet ditch the psych-jangles to evolve into a fuller cosmic entity, led by progressive rock undertones, playful synth distortions, and an addictive guitar riff. Opening with sensual vocals, leading towards the band’s dream-state position, “Future Colors” manages to manipulate these elements through a creative composition while simultaneously pulsating through into the dance realm. Thriving through the duality of vocals and constant bursts of energy, Moon Ensemble make a welcoming statement through their sonic palette of new colors. - Janette Ayub Date Nite -from San Francisco, CA -With the release of their eponymous album and gigs with some of electronic music’s biggest stars, San Francisco’s Date Nite is ready to party. The three-piece outfit - known for their banging jams, party antics, and dance songs about physics – consider themselves just on the cusp of their talents. “We’ve played in separate groups before, DJ’d in clubs and on the festival circuit, and certainly spent lots of time making electronic music,” says producer Jason. “But with the three of us working together we’ve created something really unique”. “I like to call our sound “Sci-Fi Pagan. But most people would just call it… a very loud, sweaty, good time” says singer and co-front woman Candy. And with Date Nite touring, and remixes recently played at Coachella and on the Squarepusher tour, Date Nite definitely has some very fun, sweaty times ahead. New Spell Leanne Kelly Jacob Frautschi -from San Francisco, CA -Dark indie pop with female vocals, this SF Bay Area project creates dynamic, cerebral music. The unifying force behind New Spell's sound is songwriter Leanne Kelly's wandering vocals and keyboard-centric songwriting. Drums and synth bass embellish compelling layers of sound in a uniquely captivating style. |
