Laura Gibson
Laura Gibson
-from Portland, OR

-Laura Gibson's new album 'Goners' will be released on 26.10.18 by City Slang and Barsuk. New single 'Tenderness' is out now - https://lauragibson.lnk.to/Goners

Both literary and raw, with a love of a traditional folk music and a bent towards experimentation, multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter Laura Gibson has toured four continents, and is a frequent collaborator.

She received an MFA in Fiction Writing from Hunter College, while working on her fourth release, the wise and vulnerable "Empire Builder", which Pitchfork called her best record to date.

“Her best record to date...Gibson offers a cathartic tale of loss and redemption, set against a gorgeous sonic backdrop. She sounds newly confident, invigorated, and free.” - Pitchfork

“Captivating.” - **** 4 stars Mojo

“There isn’t a song here that isn’t a low-key delight.” - **** 4 stars Q

“A triumph” – 8/10, Uncut

Meric Long
(of FAN and The Dodos)
-from Oakland, CA
-After singer/guitarist Meric Long had spent a decade as one-half of indie rock duo the Dodos -- time that saw the release of several acclaimed albums (including, most notably, 2008’s Visiter) and tours the world over -- Long was compelled to put his band on pause following the passing of his father and subsequent birth of his first child, choosing instead to prioritize life over music.

But for a lifelong musician, it’s nearly impossible to separate the two for very long.

Ultimately, the catalyst that merged them together once more was two synthesizers Long inherited from his dad -- instruments he began playing in the purest sense of the word, with no particular purpose in mind other than the sheer enjoyment of seeing what kind of sounds he could make them produce.

For a musician who has spent many years primarily playing guitar, the shift to writing with synthesizers was initially daunting. But doing so gave Long the opportunity to finally embrace a wealth of childhood influences, including Nintendo soundtracks, Devo, Brian Eno and Prince.

Sea Of Bees
-from Sacramento, CA
-Sea Of Bees is a project of JJ (Jules Bee, Baenziger) just a humbled Trans-Man who has had some experiences and is still tumble-weeding around after a decade of learning instruments. Trying to make sense of things and not make sense through music. J.J. is based out of Sacramento, Ca and currently working on some sound right now. Learning to reach out again and touch the ones that make the world a more colourful and honest space.
