-Since 2010 MKC has been jamming up and down California playing different flavors of music for the revolution. Intense energy, good music. Fight back and question the institutions around you.....DON'T SUBMIT TO WESTERN POWER.

-Coming together in September of 2016, we started putting together songs that we jammed in the previous months. On October 28th 2016 we had our first show at the Delirium just off Valencia and 16th St, opening up for local bands Pacific Elements, MKC, and our good friends in Alpha Pride (another Local Reggae Rock Band). Some songs were completed with lyrics, other were longer jams, but we made our first mark on the San Francisco music scene.

In November we played our very first show in Mountain View California, playing at Dana St. Roasting Company with the Millennial Jazz Quartet: Lyfe Fyre, which all the members of GrooView jam with on occasion.

We played around the bay area for a bit, but in late May we went to Tiny Telephone Studios to record our offical EP, the old school way: live onto tape. Our engineer and producer was James Riotto, an amazing person and overall music wizard. In five days we had laid down five tracks so quick that we decided to add the final two tracks Dukes Down and Toning.

On August 31st we released our EP with a show at Brick and Mortar Music Hall in san Francisco with fellow bay area reggae bands Coast Tribe and Native Elements. The EP is out, and we are spreading it out to local college radio stations in california, but eventually, everywhere. It's on Spotify, Itunes, Youtube, Souncloud, and even on this website! We are doing things bigger and better all the time, come join us

-Though classified as a "SkaPunk" band the boys love to take blends of other genres/styles of music and reach farther than just your usual ska. Like tapping into harder punk genres, diving into surf themes and also throwing in a blend of rocksteady attitude

The band first got together in 2014 (Dustin, Miguel, Dylan and Sergio) as a group of guys who had a drive for making ska punk music and needed that creative outlet. Together they formed Shark Punch and quickly got to work on their sound. After spending a few months writing a few songs they realize that to be a skapunk band you need horns. Since not knowing personally any horn players they set out to CSU East Bay to put out flyers saying "Tromboners Wanted". To their surprise two trombone players answered the call (Noah and Nick)

During December of 2015 they recorded their first independent album "Hope This Works" at Art of Ears studio with well-known recording engineer Andy "Andro" Ernst who also recorded Green Day, Rancid and other well-known recording artists.

Since their inception Shark Punch has played in many iconic Bay Area venues, festivals and colleges. Venues/Festivals including DNA Lounge, 924 Gilman, Downtown Hayward Street Fair, Mayfest 2018 and The Uptown.
