Tawnee Kendall
  Whale Fall Album Release Party
-from San Francisco, CA
-Radio-ready, Nashville-style storytelling that will move your hips and get stuck in your head, Whale Fall is a modern take on Tawnee Kendall’s classic country-music upbringing. Expanding on the soundscape from her previous album, Release The Ghost (dubbed “heart-on-your-sleeve artistry” by Huffington Post), Kendall’s fourth studio album continues the journey in richly emotional, irresistibly melodic songwriting.

Tawnee Kendall delivers commanding melodies with the gravity of rock, the preen of pop-glam, and the storytelling force of folk.

Tawnee Kendall first took the stage at age four and was performing regularly up and down California by age 10. Her first performances were at state fairs, farmers markets, and yacht clubs - entertaining crowds with old familiar classics like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Hank Williams.

At age 15, Tawnee jumped at the opportunity to buy her first guitar and taught herself how to play. She's been writing and performing her own music ever since.

Raised on Country, Bluegrass, and Rock and Roll, it's easy to hear Tawnee's roots coming through in her songs. She has released three EPs: In Between Spaces, Still Taste It featuring The Hangover Brigade, and Release The Ghost.

Today, Tawnee is based in San Francisco and plays regularly throughout the Bay Area and California.

Commoner
Ashley Henderson, Edward Marks, Lindsey Simon, Richard Weld
-from San Francisco, CA

-With a sound that would love to wade in the stream with Wilco, Gillian Welch and Townes Van Zandt, Commoner's first record "When No One's Looking" is already garnering critical acclaim. Lindsey Simon writes songs about weird sweet feelings, smoky warm memories, and amped-up joy and sorrow. Recorded in Marfa, TX in January 2015, the album features Scrappy Judd Newcombe on guitar and mandolin, Robert Gungor on keys, Ronnie Johnson on bass, Jon Slater on harmony vocals, and Edward Marks on drums and percussion. Commoner has been active in San Francisco for several years, most recently headlining a show at the Hotel Utah and playing the Haight Street Fair.

Simon grew up in Texas and cut his teeth playing rock clubs in Austin for 15 years before landing in San Francisco. He was picked to play the weekly residence by Paul Sessums at Austin's Black Cat Lounge, opened for touring bands at Emo's, and toured the South supporting two previous records.
