Three Elements www.phillipbaileymoncrease.com/ multi-instrumentalist, singer rapper The Paces -from San Francisco, CA -THE PACES formed as a duo in 2018. Coming from different sides of the earth, they melded together their disparate influences and tastes in an effort to create a "new sound". In 2019 they released their self produced debut album "Parfait". In 2020 they completed their sophomore album "S.P.T" this time with help from Grammy award winning bassist ("I", Kendrick Lamar) Chris Smith. Since that time, the band has recruited Toronto born drummer Adam Arruda, and together the quartet is working on their 3rd album. THE PACES were recently featured on Radiolab's new podcast/mini-series "The Vanishing of Harry Pace"; Bandmember Eric is Harry Pace's great-grandson. Hand-Me-Down Brownie - - Three Elements -from Stockton, CA -Phillip Bailey Moncrease is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and rapper out of Stockton, California. Phillip grew up immersed in a variety of musical genres including R&B, Motown, and Hip Hop. He took up the alto saxophone at a young age and was first introduced to jazz through the music of Dave Brubeck. He soon added drums to his repertoire; leading his high school drum line and performing all over Northern California in various groups. As a bassist, Phillip has worked with artists such as Robyn Jackson and local producer Quickstrike; while also performing with The 209 Allstars, Mojo Swingers, Elementz, and the Delta College Big Band as a pianist. Phillip began rapping under the name 'Moncrease' in 2009, recorded an EP in 2011, and later went on a northern California tour with the Virginia based group Butcher Brown in the summer of 2012. In 2013 he went international when he began employment with the touring agency El-Live, performing in Five Star Hotels six nights a week. During his time with El-Live, Phillip spent 3 months performing in Abu Dhabi and 8 months in Beijing. Phillip has become one of the most sought after musicians internationally due to his versatility and unique sound that conveys sensitivity without sacrificing strength or confidence. Those who have seen him play live laud him for his ability to channel a fiery energy and soulfulness into his playing in any setting that takes the music to new heights.- |
