Varona
Zhenya Kogan -- vocals, guitar
Anya Kogan -- vocals, keyboard, melodica
Max Abelev -- sounds
Mike Yeluashvili -- bass
Trey Houston -- drums
Greg Solovyev -- violin
-from San Francisco, CA

-Varona celebrated the end of everybody’s least favorite year with their 5th album “Loud”, in which they explore new territories and revisit their origins. Four songs featured here have been released before, yet the new versions are heavier and, well, louder. Compared to earlier studio work, “Loud” is more focused on capturing the energy of Varona’s live performances, which have gotten increasingly frequent and intense (before 2020 put the world’s live music scene on hold). The newer songs on the album showcase the continuing trajectory of guitarist Zhenya Kogan’s songwriting and a more collaborative approach to lyrics. The band’s line-up, with Zhenya and pianist Anya Kogan lead vocal interplay, a hard-driving rhythm section comprised of Mike Yeluashvili on bass and Rom Kuras on drums, alongside the saxophone of Justin Chin (also of La Misa Negra), plus found sounds and digital-glitch treatments by Max Abelev, conveys the passion and the experimentation that have been Varona’s trademark all along. The mood ranges widely here, from the upbeat “Varona Lullaby” to the eerie “Sacred Beast”, from the raw emotion of “Love Song” to the confidently political “Siren”. In short, Varona stays true to its shapeshifting form.

Goodworld
-from San Francisco, CA
-Goodworld is the idea that the world is fundamentally good, or it is the name of a pretty cool amusement park.

Henry Chadwick
-from Santa Cruz, CA
-Henry Chadwick is a Santa Cruz, CA-based singer-songwriter, musician & producer. Chadwick’s music dances between genres - landing somewhere between indie, garage rock, psychedelia, and shimmery, sunshine-tinged power-pop.
Chadwick's self-produced, performed & released 2016 debut EP Guest At Home garnered attention from prominent blogs and outlets such as Rolling Stone, Time, Huffington Post, Indie Shuffle and others. Rolling Stone and Time Magazine listed it as one of the best albums to come out in the first half of 2016. It’s loved by all who hear it.
In late 2017 Henry Chadwick entered the studio with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Kurt Vile) & engineer, Brian Rosemeyer (Kurt Vile, Cass McCombs, Cat Power), & emerged with a full-length monster of an album. Chadwick acted as a multi-instrumentalist again, playing drums, guitar, bass & keys on the record. The 11-song LP is named Marlin Fisher, after Henry’s middle names. Marlin Fisher received praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, No Depression and more. It’s loved by all who hear it.
In 2019, Chadwick released a 5 song EP titled The President Of Make Believe with Brooklyn-based Indie label, Swoon City Music. It was recorded partially in Santa Cruz, as well as Brooklyn with engineer Mike Beck, who mixed the EP. It’s loved by all who hear it.
2020 saw 1 single release, “What I Mean To Say”. It’s loved by all.
Henry released “Tomorrow Is Today”, the 2nd single off his upcoming 2nd LP. Everyone loves it.
