Ride the Blinds
-from San Francisco, CA
-San Francisco-based blues-rock outfit Ride the Blinds, which features the talents of Chris Guthridge (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Bill Cramer (bass), and Nick Cramer (drums), have released two albums on the Klepto label. Both 2004's eponymous debut and 2006's Start Running have earned the group critical acclaim, as well as favorable comparisons to legendary acts like the Faces, the Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin as well as contemporary classic rock bands like  the Black Crowes. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

The Spyrals
-from Los Angeles, CA
-Los Angeles-based group The Spyrals released their last album ‘Same Old Line’ on October 30th, 2020. Taking cues from The Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevators and The Stooges by way of Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Muddy Waters, the record sees the band carve out eight songs of raw, back-to-basics rock’n’roll that marries white-knuckle garage-blues, psychedelic repetition and sun-baked alt-country to create “something new with an old soul”. The record is their fourth full-length to date and their first since signing to London-based label Fuzz Club.

Armed with a guitar, harmonica and fuzz pedal, band-leader Jeff Lewis formed The Spyrals when he was living in San Francisco in the early 2010s. Now, though, he’s based in Los Angeles and finds himself backed by a new line-up of musicians. ‘Same Old Line’ was cooked up in new drummer Dash’s garage and recorded over the course of a few days and nights straight to a Tascam tape machine. Jeff recalls: “This is the first album recorded with a new lineup after I moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. At the time of recording we werenʼt sure if this would be a Spyrals album or something under a different name. At some point during the mixing process I decided to keep moving on under the Spyrals name, so to me this album is a real turning point in the band’s history.” The result is a record that’s just as rooted in the sounds of Nashville and the Mississippi Delta as it is the band’s West Coast garage-rock forebears.

Niveles
-from San Francisco, CA
-Initially beginning as a recording project, Niveles was formed by Andrew O’Neil and Ventura Garcia while playing and touring with Mondo Drag (Riding Easy Records). A small batch of tapes was hand-made and distributed after recording their demos. This led to the band playing shows throughout the Bay Area and Los Angeles with various acts such as The Bilinda Butchers, Broken Water, Dirt Dress, and The Shrine.

Combining their shared admiration for Sonic Youth, Unwound, Mogwai, early works of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Can, their heavy psych undertones weave shoegaze and post-punk into moments of sonic bliss. Before entering the studio, Victor Lopez (bass) and Nate Jimenez (drums) were added to the ensemble. Their latest release was recorded by Grace Coleman who has previously worked on records with Crisis Man (members of Ceremony), Spiritual Cramp, The Shes and Pllush at Different Fur Studios in San Francisco.
