She sings bewitching songs about longing desire, dreams and bewilderment. Though her sound has a mysterious timeless quality to it, you can sometimes hear sounds reminiscent of Willie Nelson, Mazzy Star, Magnetic Fields and the Velvet Underground. Tarnation -from San Francisco, CA -Paula Frazer's unique, ethereal voice and beautiful songs are frequently described as dark country with an eclectic and lush mix of folk, blues, rock, and pop. She performs with her band Tarnation, which consists of singer-songwriter and guitarist Jacob Aranda, Sam Berman on drums, and David Cuetter on pedal steel, Patrick Main on keys and vocals and Meryl Press on vocals and percussion. Paula has a large fan base and performs regularly in venues around the Bay Area. Growing up with a Father who was a minister and a Mother who taught piano in Georgia and Arkansas, she moved to San Francisco in the 1980s and played with many local bands then began a band called Tarnation in the 1991. Paula released two albums on 4AD, one on Reprise and four albums on Birdman Records and embarked on various touring appearances, in Europe and the US with bands like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Moore Brothers, The Tindersticks and others. She has also appeared on recordings with artists including Cornershop, Jonathan Richman, Mark Eitzel, Sean Lennon, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Tindersticks, and the Czars. Paula’s songs have appeared on soundtracks like GI Jane, The Break Up, Joyride, Nevada, Gambling and has appeared on other movies and commercials. Mayya -from San Francisco, CA -Mayya is inspired by anyone who is unapologetically themselves and aspires to create a positive environment through her melodic, energetic music. She has shared the stage with the likes of Deerhoof, Mike Watt, Kid Congo Powers, Tim Presley, The Avengers, Downtown Boys, Jeffrey Lewis, and more. |
