Slugcult Rise Memphis Murder Men -from Oakland, CA -50’s rock ‘n’ roll’s bastard child – that just about sums up The Memphis Murder Men. Originally hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, the band evolved from the Steel City’s first horror-punk outfit – The Brain Invaders – and now call Oakland their home. These guys have fired up the stage with The Misfits, Tiger Army, The Murder Junkies, The Quakes, The Guana Batz and just about every legendary psychobilly band there is. The group completely embodies the rock ‘n’ roll that gave birth to every punk, rockabilly, and psychobilly band out there and do it without regrets or fear of what “the scene” might think. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, The Memphis Murder Men are putting the nail in the coffin of bad rock ‘n’ roll and cranking out loud and proud rock n roll the way the greats did. The Vaxxines -from Oakland, CA -Punk n Roll from Oakland, CA. From the ashes of The Pathogens which included Cinder from Tilt and Jesse Lucious (Blatz, Gr’ups, The Criminals), come a reformed unit called The Vaxxines. Veteran Oakland drummer Markley Hart (Econochrist, Strychnine, Fracas), and guitarist Sebastian (The Twots, The Divvys) posted old school paper flyers at local bars, salons, and cafes announcing the new band. Long time friend Adachi jumped in on bass and after four weeks of auditions they found Lizzie to perfectly round out the group as the lead vocalist. The demo below on Bandcamp lists two re-recorded Pathogens songs including I Wanna Be In Quarantine, which they wrote in 2019, a year before the pandemic. Cheers! |
