Being lifelong friends and collaborators, the duo imagined a debut album and performance that brings together their noise rock background, with the theatrical and the epic. This debut EP was self released under the title The Hand Faces Upwards, and was followed by a live record recorded at Berkeley’s KALX in 2018. The band signed on Mudguts in 2019 and released Good Boy to critical acclaim. There is rumor of a second studio album currently in the works… With a penchant for the disparate, and psychedelic, the progression of their sound is far from linear. Self Improvement -from Long Beach, CA -Jett Witchalls, Jonny Rza, and Pat Moonie started sending demos to each other between San Francisco and Long Beach during the pandemic. They decided long distance relationships rarely work out so Jett and Jonny moved to Long Beach and SELF IMPROVEMENT was born. Bromf -from San Francisco, CA -A prolific musician with credits on over 50 releases, Bromf is one of the most memorable and surprising live acts in the Bay Area. |
