"I make music that's true to me, I sing a message that is pure to myself, we perform a real show." A band that blends high paced rock 'n roll, folk lyrics, a punk edge and a rockabilly sensibility. They pull decades of the human experience directly into their sound and show. Continuing to prove that good quality music with an influential message is still being sought after by the listening public, Francisco Fernandez (2002) and the Ferocious Few (2005) have spent the last sixteen years gaining ground with audiences around the world. The Ferocious Few is made up of Francisco Fernandez as lead singer and spunky left handed guitarist, along with drummer Daniel Aguilar. European drummers include Jeremy Black and Felix Ritz (depending on location). Francisco and The Ferocious Few started out busking (street performing) and playing small bars in 2005. Their rousing guitar riffs and drum kicks brought in good daily wages and the attention of larger California stage venues such as The Great American Music Hall, Saratoga Mountain Winery, Bottom of the Hill, and The Independent San Francisco. In 2007, The Ferocious Few broke into the rock scene when they opened for Steve Miller and Joe Cocker respectively. After releasing two CD’s independently, the band released “Juices” under the Birdman Records label (2010) and returned to DIY with “The Ferocious Few” in 2015 followed by a re-release in 2018. To date, Francisco and his bandmates have toured extensively performing at countless shows and festivals across America. Notable Festival venues include Coachella (2015), SXSW (Austin TX-10 yrs.), Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, Noise Pop and Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival to name a few. Acclaimed National Tours and Shows have consisted of opening for artists such as Cyndi Lauper’s Memphis Blues Tour (US National Tour, 20 Dates), Lynyrd Skynrd (2 shows), Shooter Jennings (3 shows), Snoop Doggy Dog, Billy Idol, The Led Zeppelin Experience with Jason Bonham, Mumford and Sons, Moby, plus a surplus of noteworthy acts. Francisco has also toured solo all across the USA with a stop at the Beatles 50th Anniversary concert in New York to co-host and perform at the iconic event. Francisco Fernandez is currently calling Luxembourg home with ever broadening their reach across Europe and the US. Follow The Ferocious Few on Facebook to get an up to date tour schedule and learn more about this “rollicking, soulful, garage-rock” band. Go By Ocean -from San Francisco, CA -It has been said that “the darkest hour is just before the dawn,” and in the case of Ryan McCaffrey, leading member of San Francisco indie rock band Go By Ocean, that dark hour turned into several dark years. As things currently stand, however, we’re somewhere around midday. The sun is at its highest and the singer/guitarist is embracing his new life in the light. On Go By Ocean’s second full length, McCaffrey and his troupe have harnessed its energy and the aptly titled Sun Machine radiates a message of hope and perseverance. To make the album, the group blended a traditional live approach with contemporary production to create a densely layered sound, which belies its spontaneous creation, and all arrangement decisions were made during one week-long session at Stinson Beach’s Panoramic House studio. At the moment of its creation McCaffrey was healthy and hopeful, and it shows; he entered the studio with one producer, four musicians, and ten songs written on acoustic guitar and vocals, and left with a fully fleshed out and cohesive album that is well summarized by its title. The Bribes (solo) -from San Francisco, CA -With The Bribes, Philip distills the majesty and drama of classical music and jazz, and the urgency of early rock n’ roll into an aesthetic that’s both earthy and elegant. For Philip, the primal punch of Chuck Berry is just as valid as the ornate compositions that makeup the Baroque music canon. “People like John Lee Hooker and Chuck Berry were unabashedly themselves—you don’t need music theory as long as you have essence and color,” Philip, who is a self-taught musician, shares. Previously, the trio have released three albums, and toured and performed regionally in the northwest, the bay area, and beyond. The Bribes have been featured in The Bay Bridged, The Deli San Francisco, Bay Area Music Magazine, Windy City Times, WXRT Local Anesthetic, and Midwest Action. Prior to its latest album, Philip relocated The Bribes from Chicago to San Francisco, and the band is now rounded out by a Bay Area lineup, including Jesse Strauss on bass (who mixed and engineered the record) and Anthony Puducay on drums. |
