Warm adjectives like "Effervescent" and "Soulful" have been used to describe their comforting indie-rock; still, with two full length LPs, few can accurately articulate what makes the independent outfit so addictive. Nestled atop head-bobbing backbeats, funky guitar voicings share the spotlight with melodic, bouncing basslines to create rich, indulgent instrumentation that only Rei Kimura's eminent croon could occupy. An amalgamation of the four's musicianship and passion produce shimmering ingenuity that truly, unambiguously, sounds of Moxie. Jacklen Ro -from Los Angeles, CA - Jackie and Caelen met on a mountain and sang a song in harmony. The more they sang, the more they became entwined, pouring passion, love and heartbreak into every note. Now, as a four piece band, Jacklen Ro has most recently released their second album under Lolipop records. It is an indie rock love letter to being in your early 20s and feeling your feelings as hard and raw as possible. With hollered harmonies reminiscent of the Beatles, and dramatic melodies influenced by Father John Misty and Paramore, Jacklen Ro brings an original and exciting sound. If you don’t love them, you probably haven’t met them yet. Sun Casino -from San Francisco, CA -A by-product of quarantine, Sun Casino was formed by 3 SF transplants hailing from Atlanta, Nashville and SLO. The trio has taken the city by storm with a slew of packed Friday and Saturday night sets at local venues. Sun Casino’s catchy lyrics and jangly guitar hooks have resonated deeply with the local SF indie rock scene. Just 3 fellas playing their lil hearts out. |
