K1 came correct, after a year crafting the sound, with all the hooks and embellishments that come with greatness. This record was produced by the amazing Alex Newport Desslok -from San Francisco, CA -Rich Millman - Lead Guitar + Synths (Carlton Melton, Zen Guerrilla) Joey Osbourne - Drums (Acid King, Altamont) Carl Horne - Bass Guitar (Zen Guerrilla, Cheetah Speed) Bob Hannam - Vocals + Synths (Cabbage n Mash, Frehley's Vomet) Slow Phase -from Oakland, CA -Somewhat of a supergroup, made up of prominent musicians from the Oakland, California underground rock scene, Slow Phase jam 70's grooves spiced with a little hard rock funkiness!" (from Desert Psychlist) It was only after having spent 3 years woodshedding James Gang, KISS, Mountain, Zeppelin, Zappa, Sabbath, and Grand Funk that the band decided to start writing originals, and christened themselves SLOW PHASE, after the most righteous setting on the 1971 Maestro Phase Shifter. The trio is powered by drum wizard Richard Stuverud (Pearl Jam, Fastbacks, RNDM, Tribe After Tribe, Tres Mountains, and many more) who plays like a man possessed simultaneously by the ghosts of Keith Moon, Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, as well as sharing lead vocals and harmonies. Anthony Pulsipher (from art-damaged country rockers Spidermeow) wields both fuzzed out bass and fuzzed out vocals, while guitarist Dmitri Mavra (founder and songwriter behind cult favorites SKUNK, and DUNGEON WEED) brings the old school riffs and the rippin’ leads with that Marshall growl. Come see why local music scribe Dave Pehling called Slow Phase as a “badass power trio explosion! |
